Welcome Futurebride! The good news for you is that Jamaica is known for having affordable AI resorts! For personal reasons, Jamaica was not an option for us, but Montego Bay has a wealth of options! My FFIL loves staying at the Riu and there is at least one other 2014 bride who posts here that is a travel agent and Jamaica bride (I believe the Moon Dance Villas?).

Thanks for the info, I actually will need a resort that accepts children.  My heart was set on the Ibersostar Rose Hall Suites but so far all weekends in July 2014 are booked.  I looked into the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach but the scenary looks all that great from the pics I have seen. I also came across the Sunset Beach Resort and Spa in Montego Bay that seems affortable but I haven't seen any recent reviews from brides that married there, the ones I have come across where in 2011, so I'm kinda skeptical plus the website doesn't really sell me.  I will take your advice and look into the Riu!! For now this seems to be the hardest part, and it's only the very beginning!

Your best bet is to sit down with an experienced DW travel agent, let him or her know what your parameters are (e.g. cost, accepts children) and go from there. Wright Travel comes highly recommended (owners of this site) and there are other great agents as well.

Three, because I haven't told a lot of friends because we can't afford to invite them all. We will be having an at-home reception, but that's not planned yet, and we still may be sending out more invitations. *sigh*

*SIGHS* is right!! hahah

I wanted at least 6-7 months but it happened during our last month to"try", so I will be married carrying a 5 months old. :-)

Its a lot, and the thought of having the baby right before the real planning starts makes me a little nervous but my FH reminds me all the time, "you wanted a baby" we will be alright.

I was waiting a little longer to fess in here but since the subject came around, and since I will be friending a bunch of you on FB and the news is out there... I figure now is the time.

I am having the hardest time with choosing a dress, everyone says I will not gain that much weight since I am a healthy eater, but I know I will gain some, so from wanting a mermaid or something figure hugging I am  now in love with ball-gowns. And now I am obsessed with wanting to get a dress ASAP so I can try it on and now where I have to go in weight before the wedding. I will NOT wait after the baby since there is no way I will be in shape to go crazy dress shopping and I haven't gained any weight yet, I actually lost 5 pounds even though my little belly is showing, so I can get a dress, maybe an inch or two bigger and go from there after the baby. I will be exercising like crazy and I am not your gym girl. I hate it!!

Awww that is amazing!! CONGRATS smile02.gif

Too many drinks to count (lol) and visited the restaurant we plan on having it at ( off property) I wanted to confirm that was the right decision , and I am now sure it is ! It's going to be great to take the guests off property for an " adventure " and I love the exclusivity of it all. My GF loved Punta Cana and loved it all so it was also exciting showing someone who has never been there.

We selected the resort NoW Larimar . Now let me tell you that I went I've there thinking that was the last place if choose. Mainly because the name annoys the F out of me. Lol! But... We loved it. Miss Jali , your resort Barcelo is awesome , very pretty.

We just felt that the best thing for our group was something smaller, where you didn't need a train, trolley, or golf carts to get to everything. I can see me now. Taking 20 minutes to get to the beach to have forgotten my book or sunscreen and starting all over again . Lol

Meeting with the coordinator at the restaurant was great. She's like an Urban Legend. She's so damn busy all the times that she can't get to Brides in a timely fashion so everyone is out of their minds . So it was good to talk to her in person and clarify a lot . She really is a genius , yet she is overworked so I can only hope she will stick around until my wedding late next year. :0/

IBM going to respond to a bunch of the posts I've missed out on so let's see,,

Wahooo!!!!   That is awesome cheers.gif

awww! hehehe

Don't worry me neither. I often wish I were " normal" my FI would love one. But I'm not there yet, it's like everything will be so different . Getting married is huge enough , I can't deal with being preggers too.

Hahah right!

Welcome!! Check out jewel runaway bay. There isn't a lot of info on their resort here but I stayed there in may and loved it. Beautiful beach, friendly staff and kid friendly.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
