Back from my wedding at Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril

Hi there! I have a noon wedding time but would have preferred the 2pm-it was taken though. You have to rent a dance floor, unless you just want to make room at the restaurant. The semi-private reception just means that you may be sharing the area with another bride or two, depending if you have other brides getting married that day. There are 3 slots per day for brides, noon, 2pm and 4pm. If they are all full, most likely it will be all 3 of you, depending what time you eat. Since ours is at noon, we are going to take a few pictures, then head over to Rick's Cafe for the afternoon, come back, shower, and have our dinner. It will all work out!! :) When are you getting married?

My wedding is in June. Are you renting a dance floor? I am thinking about bringing my own decorations for the ceremony. The resort charge for EVERY LITTLE THING. ugh!!! But I want everything to be like I want it. I saw a fold up arch online. I really don't like that skinny one that comes with the free wedding.

Hello Ladies. My name is Monique and My fiancé and I are getting married June 29th this year and I'm super excited!! Trying to keep the cost down and was wondering what the chairs look like. Our ceremony takes place at RIU Negril Club Hotel on the beach. Does anyone have any pictures? Want to bring my own or tulle.

I'm not renting a dance floor, we are all super laid back and have read a TON of reviews on how to make things free. We are going to try to slip some venders on the beach some $$ to play after the wedding and just dance on the beach :) and then just assign different people to run & get drinks so we don't have to pay for a bartender & all that. We are bringing our own chiffon and tulle to do the arch, as i really am not sure what that will look like. Do you have a picture of the fold up arch? That's interesting...

I am getting married at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay, so there COULD be a difference, but I know they offer green (not sure why) and white chairs. I would request the white, as i think they only give you the white if you have over 20 guests-stupid. As far as the chairs that I've seen in some brides that have sent me pics, they are just basic lawn chairs and it looks like it is kind of woven plastic in the back-if that makes sense. Your wedding is coming up!! I still have to wait until December.

My wedding is June 21. I started buying and ordering things from Exclusively Weddings and from Ebay. I am taking my favors and all with me; just in case. I have packed it all in 1 box. I even purchased a personalized runner (most expensive). RIU charges extra to decorate the chairs for you. I think it is $12 per chair. I found a cake maker too because I don't want a cheap looking cake. I will only have about 20 people, but I still want it to look like I have 200 people (that's just me).

I am thinking about getting a runner as well.  We changed our wedding to the beach instead of the garden.  I feel like it might be a little more private on the beach.  I think the runner will give it a great look and also help me walk down the isle.  what shoes are you planning on wearing?  I made a pair of barefoot sandals, and was thinking about making them for my bridesmaids but haven't yet.  Any thoughts?

I am bringing Welcome bags for everyone that will be in their rooms when they get there so we are not doing favors.  The bags are going to be filled with goodies, plus having only 20 people coming allows me to personalize each bag a little more :)

Im wondering how much decor I should bring along for the reception.  How are you setting it up?

Also - are you doing a guestbook?  I saw one on etsy that is a thumbprint palm tree.  it was super cute and fun for everyone that was on the trip.  I would probably frame it afterwards.

Hi everyone! I am getting married at the RPTB on 26 Oct 2013. Anne Marie is helping me and so far it's been very seamless. We are trying to organize a welcome dinner on the day of arrival, a group catamaran excursion to Rick's cafe and a beach party for our reception. If anyone has experience with this or recommendations, I would love to hear about it. I am bringing OOT bags for guests and a few things I have picked up on Kajiji: coral table runners, chair sashes and tulle. Vistaprint.ca has been great for invites and "Do Not Disturb" signs for our guests' doors. I found some fans on OrientalTrading.com and wrapped some of the coral tulle around the handle. They also had great votive candle holders we personalized for the reception. I found photographer Marcia E Roberts through a friend of mine, her work is amazing! We can't wait for our week in paradise!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
