I am getting married at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay October 26/13. Time really does fly and I'm trying to plan and getting a lot of great info from this site. We will have 30 guests including our wedding party. We are paying an additional $200 to have the beach area for the reception after dinner at the Steakhouse. I booked a local photographer, Marcia E Roberts, who my co-worker and several clients have used. I am also booking a dj. I found the pricing at the resort to be exorbitant. What I am hoping to upgrade is on the arch which I understand from threads will be a couple hundred, and adding the chair covers ($9 if you don't need sashes?) and tiki torches. Has anyone had any experience with the beach area and use of lighting? I bought sashes, table runners, tulle for the arch, personalized votive candle holders, fans for the ceremony and have recently started my OOT bags and centerpieces with either reasonably priced websites or online using Kajiji. Hoping to keep the trend going so I don't spend a small fortune on the resort upgrades. Any help would be much appreciated
