St. Thomas ceremony location and resorts

Hello,

So we are trying to decide a few things about our wedding in St. Thomas.  First, which resort to stay at.  We want to stay at an all-inclusive resort, and I think we're leaning toward Bolongo Bay, but I would love to hear where you guys stayed, and how you liked it.

Also, we know we want a beach wedding, but can't decide on a beach!  In pictures, they all look so beautiful.  Im curious, do you know if beach weddings are private or are there random people walking by during your ceremony?  Hopefully, you can share where you had your ceremonies/receptions.  It would help so much!!  Thank you!

Hi Dominique-

I am looking at a St. Thomas wedding too. I have heard good things about Lindquist & Lime Tree Beach. While Megan's Bay is nice, since it is a popular public beach - I have heard it can get quite crowded by the afternoon.

As far as resorts, I've heard good things about the Marriott Frenchman's Cove and Bolongo Bay.When in doubt, Tripadvisor has good reviews of people who have actually stayed there.

Good luck in your planning!!

I'm getting married at Sugar Bay Resort in May 2013. We chose Sugar Bay(all inclusive) over bolongo because it has more choices in restaurants and there is a spa there.  We will get married right on the beach of the hotel and plan on doing a sunset catamaran cruise for our reception.  The resort has wedding packages so everything is included and you can upgrade things as you want.  I like that I will be working with the resort wedding coordinator and not all the vendors.  Makes it easier for me.

Good luck with your planning!

Hi! I would like to hear about your sunset catamaran reception. Which company did you go through? Was it a hit? Do you have any pics you can share?

We will staying at Marriott Frenchmans Reef and getting married in St John on Trunk Bay, but we are still deciding on a reception location.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
