I'm glad you have a good price but the Cloisters is the thee most expensive place to get married in Nassau! There are more beautiful places in Bahamas for less money. I'm being selfish but I loved that we had that in common! :( I'm crossing my arms and pouting BIG time!

Awwww... :o(   I know.. I loved, LOVED the bahamas.. Especially the CLoisters!! But after hearing family and friends complain soo much I just couldn't take it any more.. :o( But the Majestic Elegance is soooo beautiful and all-inclusive so we can afford to do an AHR that we didn't think we were going to be able to do. But I can live my Bahama dreams through you!! ;o)   We def promised each other we would visit Atlantis and the Bahamas soon. :o)

Who are you guys hiring for photo? I am lost whether I should hire one here at NY and take them with me or one at Bahamas..

Hooray!! I wish there were more of us so we could get more feedback! Are you in NYC? I'm in Northern NJ...I have searched a ton on the internet for photographers.  I'm pretty sure I will end up hiring one from down there just because I'm not sure how complicated it could get with work permits etc. When is your wedding? Have you ever been to Luciano's before? I'm a little nervous because I haven't but it seems like it might work out better than the Atlantis (plus I'm not getting married on the beach so I have to transport guests anyway)

I'm so selfishly sad too!!!! I read all of your posts and you seemed like you really were on top of things!!!! I'm happy for you that it's all working for you how you want though! Too bad there wasn't more of us Bahamas brides-maybe we could have swayed you hehe

Sorry, I never got too far along in the process of booking our DW in the Bahamas. We was about to sign our contract and put down 4500 for the Cloisters but decided to look into other options.. We have now decided on Punta Cana, we found a gorgous all inclusive resort for a much better price.  There were a few ladies in the past whom had their weddings at Atlantis and they had great information but most seems to be older posts.

I will say WeddingsintheBahamas.com seem to be great wedding coordinators with fair prices.  For Photography we were considering bringing a friend whom does photography. I know outsiders have to purchase a license and if at Atlantis you have to pay them a 300 fee for not using their photog services. Or at least this is what I have read.

Do you have a Travel Agent? If not, contact Barbara (Babs) Vong with Wright Travel. They are one of the preferred travel agencies for BDW. And since she was helping me with our DW to Paradise Island, she should have plenty of information to share.:o)

Luciano's has their menu and all their dining options online. you can view online or print it.. It's a pretty decent sized book of info.

I know it will be frustrating not having other ladies to share the same DW location with but if you need anything at all, please let me know and I will try to help. :o)

Thanks so much for all of your input! Punta Cana will be so nice :)

I was so excited I started doing most of my oot items... Thankfully I didn't plaster our location on everything. Just our date, that luckily we keep to keep! Heheh. I know if I had been able to plan more with other Bahama ladies with he same plans as I, I wouldn't have ventured into the other bdw threads... I hope more ladies join so that you can share the same planning processes! In my PC threads... I am shocked at home many ladies are getting married at the same resort as we are.. Even the same month!

  • 2 weeks later...

I had never seen the thumb print tree. I love it!! Thanks for the tip. I think I am going to do the same thing. My FI  and I are also staying at the Atlantis for our wedding this November, so I was reading the posts about guest bags. I think water and food would be an excellent thing to add. Good luck with planning and thanks for the tip!

HI! It sounds like we are having the same wedding :)  Ceremony at a church and reception at Luciano's (way more affordable and much better food than atlantis in my opinion).  The photographer we are using is Tim Aylen.  I have his contact info if you are interested.  He has been great to work with so far, super nice and easy going.  Let me know if you have any other questions! Good Luck!

Congratulations to all the future brides! My fiancee and I just chose our date! August 22, 2013 in the Bahamas! I have been talking with Anne Marie of "wedding in the bahamas" and she has been really great in answering all my questions and concerns, we are thinking of using her as our planner, if anyone has any information to share as far as whether they have used her services? All the information I have read thus far appears to be positive, and we are also thinking of getting married at the Cloisters and having a reception at Luciano's afterward. We are very excited that we have our date but are somewhat concerned about the weather but I guess since it is the Bahamas the weather is always unpredictable. I am in the very beginning stages of planning and feel somewhat overwhelmed at the thought of having to execute this wedding next year. I am not sure what resort we are staying in but I have recieved great group rates for Sheraton, Wyndham, Hilton and Atlantis so far, looking forward to hearing your experiences and going through this with others who may be experiencing some of the same things I am! =)

Congratulations! Sounds like you have a great start! I'm thinking about contacting Anne Marie but I've been able to do a lot on my own so far. We are staying at the Atlantis and having the reception at Luciano's.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
