It's my understanding that you cannot use outside vendors anymore for music.  We are going to visit in May and I plan on checking out the quality of the DJ's then.  Same with flowers, they provide a vendor for this too. 


We have an outside photographer though, and have to pay $100 per person who comes to the property. 


What is your date?

Yes, we're having a private reception.  From the pics I've looked at, it seems like there's room for a dance floor.  I haven't read anything about having to rent one.  I saw some pics of Uncle Tony's under the resort reviews section.  Are you using the hotel's dj or getting your own?

Oh, I thought that only applied to weddings at the Grand?  I'll have to ask the WC about outside vendors.  Oh, that's awesome!  Have you ever been there before? 

We have an outside photographer too......ours is Merrick Cousley.  Who are you using? 

Our date is November 30, when is yours?  How many people do you have coming?

I double checked with the WC you can have an outside vendor for music but you pay the extra fee to have them onsite.  ($100 vendor fee + $75 day pass each person).  I'm planning on checking the DJ(s) out while I'm there in May.

We haven't been there before but our TA got us a great deal on a long weekend and I'll feel better if I go see it first!

We are going to be using SunGold or their associates.  I haven't decided yet, but I really love their work!  The associates are cheaper and all their pictures come out beautifully, but Paula seems wonderful from SunGold, she's so nice!  

 

Ours is May 24, 2013.  Our guest list is about 100.. we estimate at least 50.  We haven't even sent out the STD yet and people are already asking how to book!

Oh okay, I wonder if it's worth it to get an outside DJ or just stick with the one resort DJ?  I haven't really seen many reviews of the resort DJ.  You'll have to report back when you go!

 

I'm so jealous!  We went last May and loved it!  I had never been out of the country or to an all inclusive resort, so I was amazed when I saw all of the marble.  It's beautiful!

 

I've heard good things about Sun Gold!

 

We'll have around 50 too.  I was getting the same thing from my family!  Of course I was so excited that I started working on our STD's right when we got engaged, but I didn't think I'd have to rush and get them out that quick.  They were all about booking their trips right away!  It really surprised me because we thought maybe we'd have 25 people there.  I really wanted to have a private reception and I never thought we'd have enough people to have one....boy was I wrong haha.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
