Help...Destination Wedding, how to choose a resort!

Hi AshleyBrooke, We're getting married at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort. In the off season, studios are in the 200-250/night range. It works for us because there are 1 and 2 bedroom options for 4-6 people per room. The most expensive part of the trip should be the flight. Fortunately, there are frequent direct flights from NY/NJ, where most of his immediate family lives. We're having a small group (inviting 60, expecting 22 to actually make it). There are larger resorts on Palm beach that can cater to larger crowds and get $$$.

Like Carly said, you can get married anywhere! Check out some of the threads on here about how much people are spending on their weddings and look at their locations. PM me if you want any of my research...

Welcome!  We found it overwhelming at first choosing a location and then a resort.  What really helped us was sitting down and making a list of what we wanted.  Write down whats most important to you ex. size of resort, distance from airport, cost, amenities resort provides, wedding packages and prices ect.  From there we narrowed it down to a few locations and resorts in the carribean and with the help of a travel agent we decided on Jamaica and then on the resort.  Good luck!

Thank you! I'll check out that thread.  we're down to aruba, turks & punta cana, but really leaning aruba.

we're expecting 100 guests (yikes)! i'm leaning all inclusive b/c I think that will be more economical for our guests (divi divi, westin or marriott).  hopefully we'll decide soon!

Thanks again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
