Does your TA handle DW's often?  Or travel to Mexico?  I'm wondering if maybe it would be better to switch to someone more knowledgable.  I know that we were with three TA's before we found the one we ended up using.

        Hi there,

Not many of us on here.  I am also getting married at the Moon Palace onn 8th may.  We fly out on the 30th April.  I also, have had no assistance from my tour operator Thomas Cook.  I went in and demanded to know who my wedding co ordinator was so I could start emailing her.  They suppliued me with her email address.  However, she never got back in touch.  I told Thomas Cook about this.  They got in touch with their weddign team.  Sam Stephens from Thomas Cook then emailed the Moon Palace wedding team. She CC me on this.  I started to then email them.  I got in touch with Beatriz Santana.  She was in their Florida office for the Moon Palace.  She explained I was herpoint of cann till two months before.  I would then be in touch with the onsite wedding co ordinator.  I have had this booked for 12 months and new exactly what I wanted.  She set me up with a telephone conversation between me and her to do a planning session.  I have booked the diamond package.  We have unlimited private function because we have 84+ room night booked.  I have reserved the Tucan Gazebo for the ceremony.  Followed by a cocktail on the Tucan terrace.  I will be having fireworks at this event.  The reception will then take place on the Carribean terrace.  I have gone for the metallic sands collection by Colin Cowe for the table and linen decor.  I have booked the  Mariachi band and speaker system for Ipod.  She has sent me a number of files.  I have ceremony locations, centrepieces, spa menu(so we can book in advance - highly recommended.  You can use $500 of your resort credit on these), wedding PDF, food menus etc.  I recommend you get on the phone to your tour operator and start demanding.  You have not got long left.  I can send you some files if you supply me with your email address.  I am not to sure where we stand with documents.  I was under the impression our birth certificates need to be translated into spanish by a spanish speaking lawyer.  Then, certified by a solicitor.  And then, certified by the Foreign Commonwealth.  My wedding co ordinator is now saying that documents dont need to be translated.  Where are you with these?

        Hope this helps

        Natalie

Hi natalie wow that was helpful! I have booked with an independent TA but its through thomas cook, i keep asking about a WC and they keep telling me nothing actually get sorted until i arrive at MP, obviously now ive read ur reply i know this is not correct. After writing this i will be going to the TA to get this sorted as like you said i dont have long at all! The TA have sent my documents off to be translated this cost me £96.00 for both mine and my partners birth certificates and a chenge of name certificate for my partner. You sound like you have lots sorted and planned, i would be very gratefull if you could email me some files, my enail address is zoeh86@hotmail.co.uk i will add a response once i get back from the TA, thanks you so much for your reply xx

Hi, i have finally had a response from my TA. I went straight to see them the other day and they contacted Thomas Cook who originally said I wouldnt get a WC until i arrived, but this morning ive been emailed with and email address for Beatriz Santana, so i will now be contacting her. Im getting worried now as its not long and i have nothing booked at the moon palace the only thing i know is that i get married on the 22nd March. Thank you for your email natalie it helped lots, I will let you know how i get on. xx

Beatriz will set you up with a planning session.  Where you she will ring you and you can reserve locations to order your flowers.  Have you done any research?  You will have to sort of know what you want.  I did not want the beach as very windy.  Also, wanted to wear my high heels.  Us scousers would not be seen without them!.  Read loads of reviews and went for the Tucan Gazebo as looks great!  How many rooms have you got booked?  If you go on the palaceresort benefit gives you a list of group benefit for wedding.  We have 98 room nights booked.  I was always going for the coctail hour after the cermemony followed by a private reception.  However, because I have 75+ room nights booked, I get unlimited private functions.  However, I have spent the money saved on Colin Cowe decor. Have you booked a wedding package?  Are you aware you have resort credit of $2500 per room.  Which $1500 can be used towards your wedding package.  Did not think that applied to me a booked the Diamond package before all new stuff came out.  I spoke to Beatriz and she said I could but I would have to pay Moon Palace direct. We had already paid Thomas Cook for this.  So had to pay TC £100 to cancel.  Hope I have given you some "food for thought".  If you want me to answer any questions before planning session email me at natalie47@sky.com .  You need to put asise about 1 hour for planning session.  Mine was that and I knoew exactly waht I wanted. X

                  Hi there,

Looks like your getting organised now.  Has anyone booked onto your booking with travel agent?  Visit Palace resort website to see what you qualify for under group booking.  Got Music on IPOD for my speaker system at the reception.  Need to pick 4 songs for on a CD to play on our DVD of wedding.  Have you picked a wedding package?  Yes, Tucan Gazebo looks like the best.  Quite a bit of an aisle to strutt yourself.  I have 4 year old boy/girl twin and a 6 year old daugher.  My girls are flowers girls and my son giving me away.  I am going to put their dresses on them tmrw as their shoes and all that have come.  So, if I get a chance will post pictures.  You will be alot clearer on everything when you have spoken to Beatriz.  She will tell you what you can have and what you can't.  Have a list ready for your phone call. Have you got stuff in mind?  Need anything let me know.  Did I send you optional services and PDF wedding pack as very helpful?

                  Nat X.
