We have a buffet- so sorry I'm no help there! lol. 

 

My WC is actually waiting on me to make a decision wether we are asking a friend to perform the ceremony or if we will just use someone the resort provides- I was supposed to tell her by yesterday- whoops, lol.

Does anyone have to have menu table cards for each of their guests? Like a card that says what that person is having? I'm kinda confused with this concept, I've never heard of this before, when the guests order their dinner choice in advance, don't the waiters just bring the food around and ask who got what? Maybe this eliminates the asking part, but I feel like people will move that card somewhere or put it away and the waiters will have to ask anyway, lol.

Yes, I did this for our guests. I just used printed cardstock, printed & cut out all of the names, and then stamped/cut out the shape on the top left corner. The starfish or shell indicate the entree choice, and I have a "key" that I will give to the onsite coordinator. Most of our guests chose the beef entree (starfish), I have 2 vegetarian options (blue swirl shell, in the middle, 2nd one back), and 5 who chose pork (blue scallop shell towards the back of the left side).

Office supply stores have print at home place cards and you can get a stamp set from Paper Source that has a cow, pig, fish and carrot to indicate the entree choice.

 

I think it's certainly a possibility that guests will not put their cards out, but at least I tried!

I leave 2 weeks from today---AHHHHHHH!!  Not too much today, printing programs, welcome letter, menus, itineraries early next week....finalizing some centerpieces.  I feel like I should have more to do!  I still haven't heard from my onsite coordinator so I'm freaking out a little about that, but as you've all said, they've done this 1,000 times so it'll be wonderful!

 

What are you guys doing about steaming your dress down there?

I totally feel the same way!! Feels like there's more to do, but everything seems to be under control (minus the responses from the WC whose answers will spur more questions lol).

 

Steaming is included with our wedding package, but my bridesmaids would like to steam their dresses as well and I don't have that question answered either... some are coming in the day before so I wonder what the cost is and what the turnaround time is.

It's really beyond me -- it's one (still frustrating) thing to have people "undecided," and then there's - unbelievably - the category of people who have plain NOT responded, a month out! It might be the element of not wanting to say no, but incredibly inconsiderate on one end, and hurtful on the other. But I'll share a little trick that has virtually eliminated my stress about that :-) : I deleted them from our running guest list. I don't have to see their names to remind me that they've not once responded to RSVP, follow-up call, email, and text... instead of "pending," they're just a no. So now I can concentrate on the 115 people who ARE coming - and that's a lot of people!!

 

Sorry I haven't been contributing much lately! I started a new job, fiance started a new role, our welcome party venue canceled on us (now resolved), etcetera etcetera... nothing compared to buying a new house and moving(!!), but anyway :-). Hope everyone's doing well.

Good solution - we did the same.

I talked to a friend about a month ago and she said she didn't know she had to RSVP if she was a "No".... I'm not sure how to make sense of that comment b/c I really like this person and they are very smart in most regards. Everyone has their own life and priorities and I really don't think anyone will understand the importance of every communication we put out there until they plan their own wedding.

that's even more than EDR is charging! day of is $86 for each. I'm just having them do the updo (and doing a rehearsal a few days before, because I am a control freak). I will do my own make up. I've been making friends at Sephora lately!!
