2012 Riu Palace Brides

Recommended Posts

Hello, I asked my WC Adriana while she was still working there and she said no sky lanterns...said too risky they are worried they may burn down property. I was really bummed...really wanted to have them :( On another note, I also asked about sparklers...my new WC tried telling me she wouldn't suggest me buying them b/c they are expensive and don't last very long. How expensive you ask? $35.00! I have a feeling either she doesn't know what she is talking about, or they really love to rip you off @ the RIU. Anyone else ask how much they are?

Bummer about the sky lanterns, I had my heart set on those! I'm not sure about the price of sparklers. Awhile back I saw someone posted aRiu price sheet on the forum. I do remember the prices for extras being very high.

Congrats ladies! I am also looking into having my wedding at riu palace. I plan on doing it at the Baja Norte and getting dj with lights and the photographer. Do you guts know if the photographer is good or bad?

With the poor reviews re: RIU wedding photographer, we booked someone outside of the resort.  The pictures are really so important!  We hired Dino Gomez and really excited!  He is great and already planning things with us.  He is also going to pick us up at the hotel for the TTD and drive us to some cool locations!  He was close in cost to the RIU photographer but will have to pay the outside vendor fees.  Totally worth it for great pics!

FYI i belive they changed the price for the dj from 540 with the lights and such to 640.  Please verify with the coordinator...that is what she told us the other day.

Let me know if she says the same for you because thats what she was going to charge!

Hey VKMiller!

just wondering what kind of pricing Dino gave you...? We were thinking of perhaps hiring an outiside photographer as well and since you mentioned it was close in price to the RIU photographer, it seems like it would be reasonably priced...

Can you please let me know....!?

thanks so much!

Erika

Hello ladies,

I just got back from Cabo last night and had my wedding last Friday.  I actually flew a photographer in and I did not have to pay a vendor charge. I counted him as a wedding guest.

I paid for his trip and that was it.  That came out cheaper than any photographer in Cabo.  He shot our meet and greet and the entire wedding day including me getting dressed, getting my make up, wedding, reception, after party...

The prices may vary depending upon the time of year, etc but the price that Dino Gomez is charging this July is $500 USD/hour.  He was highly recommended by Dennis Berti - a well known photographer in Cabo!

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
