Which Palace Resort did you choose and why????? Need input!

Recommended Posts

We need your advice/help! We are looking at getting married in Cancun/Riv Maya area July 2012 and the $1500 resort credit has my attention BUT I am so confused on which resort to choose.

This is our 2nd marriage and we have 4 kids between us who will be 5-13 years. We need a place that has a lot for kids to do and a nice beach and swimmable ocean, per their request.  I am reading a ton about seaweed in Riv Maya area???

I'm assuming that since we will need two rooms and will have $3000 of resort credit between the 2 we can use any of that for wedding extras???

I'm also concerned about July weather but that is the only time we can go due to kids schedules. We are fine with HOT but storms??

I have a vision of being right at the waters edge in the sand for a sunset ceremony. I want the white sand beach and the turquoise water but no speedo dudes swarming around.  I understand if we are on a public beach people will be around but would like it somewhat intimate too.  Which resort is best for this???

We are unsure how many will follow us but price and activities (outside our wedding) is also being considered. I am sure the $1500 credit for guests too will help!!

Thanks in advance for any and all advice. :)

PS We will be staying at Gran Caribe for a vacation in a few weeks and want to tour any the resorts we narrow down to... :)

Hi!

We chose Playacar Palace.

1. more intimate

2. GORGEOUS BEACH

3. walking distance to town and the Cozumel ferry that can take you across- beautiful snorkeling.

4. good food.

5. beautiful location for your ceremony

You might want to check out Aventura Cove Palace- great stuff for the kids- big property and amazing spa.  we were there in July and can speak first hand to the great staff, beautiful lagoons for lazy swimming- no tide- very safe for kids.

they shuttle you between the Palaces if you so wish.

Good luck and congrats!!

Looks like you already chose Cancun palace =) Congrats! We did a site inspection of 4 of the palace resorts (Cancun, Beach, Playacar, and Aventura) and unexpectedly were blown away by Aventura. Beach Palace had always been my top pic, but Aventura just took my breath away. Its a huge, spatious, elaborate space, reminiscent of a hacienda. Plus, you have double the restaurant options since spa and cove are connected. I didn't even miss a normal beach. Just an amazing resort.

I was wondering if you could help me.  I am stuck between Playacar Palace and Dreams Riveria Cancun and Dreams Puerto Aventuras.  Playacar looks amazing, especially for a wedding.  What about the three rest. choices?  I feel like that is not enough.  Also, are there fun things for the kids to do?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
