    hi Ladies !

i was curious about receptions in punta cana all inclusive hotels. i havent booked with a hotel yet im still checking them out but i was curious as to the cost of receptions. their are only 8 guests and 3 kids is it really worth it to pay for a private reception or should i just have a restaurant reception, im not concerned about on lookers or sharing my reception area with strangers. also are restaurant receptions included in the all inclusive pricing or would i pay extra for my guests ? we would all be staying at the same hotel.

thanks in advance for any help you ladies can give me !!

    Kim

You have to check with your hotel.

It's usually based on the amount of people. We are having a private reception at one of the a la carte restaurants at our hotel and I think it's for up to 30 people and I believe it cost us around $700.

That doesn't include an "open bar".  We opted not to have one because it is an all inclusive trip anyways, so I don't see why I should pay a couple hundred extra when my guests can just go grab drinks before we sit down for dinner and then drink afterwards.

We are getting married at the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana and we are doing the restaurant dinner that is included in the wedding package.  You don't need to go to the extra cost of a reception in many cases as it is semi-private and good enough for us.

If you haven't chosen a resort yet, check the DR threads here, there's lots of helpful info from the brides on here :)
