Air Canada Vacations - Bride and Groom Executive Class Upgrade

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys!!!

Soo i heard back from my TA today... and i am SOOO happy!!!!!!!  i get the upgrade to executive class ( which i already knew as i had that from the start) AND i get the 1 free trip for ever 26 peeps booked!!!!!!!!! that soo made my weekend! below if her exact email  paragragh pertaining to that portion.. now i kept the totals in there of the amount we receive however please keep in mind that every trip is different cost excluding or including upgrades etc.. so this may not be the amount that you would receive... i just want to make that clear hahah

SOOOO the long and the short of it is: it really does not hurt to ask your TA!!!! like mine says below, they didnt have it posted anywhere.. so you need to ask if it is not mentioned.. make your TA look into it!!!!! it is soo worth it!!!!

Hi Jennifer,

Air Canada Vacations said that you do receive 1 free for every 26 passengers booked! I apologize for this since they never had it on any of the contracts and they had to search for it. The total credit is $1914 since it does not include taxes. This amount is sent to you by cheque after you travel. It is done this way in case any guests cancel and the total amount is less than 26 then I have to ask you for an extra $1914. Itâ€s a nice bonus to receive when you get back from your wedding.

Hope this helps!!

there is a board that deals with complaints just for the TA's she said that your travel agent should be telling you in advance about all vacations taken/taking as well as her replacement for such an occasion as well, if you are having issues and problems such as you are.... she said you should be calling and reporting them. even if she is an independent agent.

i guess its like the BBB for TA's, im not sure how your name came up in our conversation lol but i thought this might help you out ... or even other brides who use her later.

The Executive Class upgrade is for Charter flights only.  These are flights that are 1600's 1700's or 1800's.... Cancun flights are not considered charters because they go daily during the season I believe.  I think I mentioned this before but because this thread is still active I wanted to mention that I called ACV directly to get my answer and this is the information they provided.  The # of guests to qualify is 20 people.

If you wish to upgrade to Business class is an additional of $ 500.00 per person." Darn!

Congrats Jen, this is great news for you!

We were told the free trip is an ACV incentive, also wouldn't have been told had we not asked but we were told for every 16th person booked we get a free trip.... you would have TWO trips!!!!!!!!!  Unfortunately half our group went with another rate (our TA gave them.... isnt she great ?!) so we have 20 going on another flight with NO free trip :(

Hi Tori, for the other rate is it possible that you might have a group rate with an incentive for booking a certain number of ppl? And did I read that correctly, Pauline is out until after labour day?! That explains the lack of responses!! Not cool.

Hey!

So apparently is anyone calls her her voicemail says she is AWAY until September 6th.  I sent her a pretty "snippy" email about this as we have until august 26th and my guests were kind of FREAKING.  Anyways in her usual non-chalant attitude she emailed back right away.  She has access to email but is not working from her office so no access to voicemail.  If they email her their phone number and info she will call them back (hopefully).  I have no idea why on her VM she didnt just say to email her but thats typical.

I think for our sunwing group it is 26 people for a free trip.... I will have to go back through my emails.  That is our Ottawa group while our ACV group is all flying through Toronto.

I just wanted to post a "retraction" so to speak regarding Pauline Blacoe and Shine Travel.

I have expressed some frustration with this process on these forums and truthfully it is not the right venue for it.  Once something is out there it is out there for good and there is no taking it back (especially in the world of BDW).  Though their have been some bumps along the way, the problems I have experienced have ultimately come down to a lack of communication and a lack of defining expectations on both our parts.  That being said, I would like to apologize for the implication my posts implied.

We chose Pauline because of the amazing "customer service" we experienced when we first started corresponding with her, I use quotations on customer service as I honestly did not feel like a customer but rather one of Pauline's friends.  She was warm, inviting and so quick to answer every email I sent her that I knew she was the right fit for us.  I was excited to support an independent business woman and was touched by Pauline's passion for her business and her proactive approach.  After speaking with Pauline regarding some of our concerns I am confident that she will make every effort to meet and exceed what we expect and the responsibility is both of ours to maintain open communication channels and an informed dialogue.

I am confident that going forward in this Destination Wedding planning process with Pauline will be a positive experience and that she will prove to meet both our expectations and our guests expectations should we encounter any difficulties along the way in February.

I feel that I can recommend Pauline to any destination wedding bride looking for a seasoned Travel Agent who has "been there, done that"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
