This actually went over phenomanelly! People are happy to bring someone they would enjoy travelling with but arnt necessarily someone you know. This also gives the single person an opportunity to have a travelling companion for tours and dinner partners. We are pretty relaxed and thought this was a good solution. Also one group rented a junior suite. So one individual is staying in the bed out in the main room and the couple is staring the enclosed bedroom. Saving on money compared to the astronomical price for a single to rent.

Hope this helps.

We've needed to pair up a few people too.  In fact my future sister inlaw is bunking with my FI's good friend who happens to be in the wedding party.  We asked both of them first if they would feel comfortable sharing and they both agreed so it's done.  It's a little strange, but if it means saving a bunch of money they people are usually up for it.

  • 7 months later...

I really like the idea of getting single guests to group up. This would work well for us as most of our younger, single guests know each other already and could arrange this on their own. I was wondering though....when you invite someone who is known to be single, do you address the invite to so-and-so plus guest, as you would with an at home wedding, and allow them the option of bringing their own roomate? (if numbers allow of course). What have others done with single guests? Thanks, as always, Kat

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
