Key West!!

I am a newbie on this site and have spent several weeks reading forums before I officially joined today and am so thankful for all of the help I've already found here.  I know there have been a few posts awhile back, but I was wondering if any of you brides have updated information on some great, fun places for a small, relaxed reception in Key West. We are getting married on the beach (think Smathers, any opinions on that would be great as well!) then thinking that a restaurant for a cocktail/hor'd ourves reception would be the best option. I have looked at the Conch Republic and Schooner's Wharf per other suggestions on here, but would love any help you could give...thanks in advance!

Hi there ... I'm kinda new on here too and have also just decided to get married in Key West!  I've been looking at Southernmost on the Beach and Ocean Key.  I've also looked Pier House but I can't get anyone to get back to me - probably not a great sign.  I've only really looked into resort/hotel locations b/c I could very well have 150-200 people.  I'm REAALLYY hoping for only about 100 - 120 though to keep the cost down - is that bad?? :)  When is your wedding??  I look forward to hearing more about your planning!  Congrats!! :)

Hi! We are getting married in Key West in October and are staying at Southernmost Hotel. They have been great so far, but I think I did have better luck in the beginning calling them rather than emailing.  I'm not sure if I can help much with having that many people, but will help with whatever I can because I know this has been a great resource for me.  We are only having 30 to 40 people and are getting married at The Oldest House.  We looked into just doing the beach thing, but I was too nervous to just have to take a spot somewhere without really having any reservations.  Looking forward to hearing more!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
