One thing for you to think about and that will help the brides on this site to give recommendations:  Do you want a private reception?  Some resorts include a dinner at one of the restaurants (other guests could be nearby) with their wedding packages while others include a private reception (say on the beach or near the pool).  But as you can imagine the package prices can differ significantly.

As a reference, the Dreams Resorts (they have resorts in Cancun, Riviera Cancun, Puerto Aventuras, and Tulum) have a $2800 package (their highest package) that includes a ceremony, cocktail hour, private dinner reception and minimal photography & videography for 20 people.  Hopefully you can use that as a starting comparison for your search!  Best of luck...

Thanks! we would like a portion of the reception to be private, weather thats just a short cocktail hour or the full reception depends on the cost of a private reception. And thanks so much for your help! Our main concern is just that theres a beautiful beach where the ceremony can be held and that its a family friendly resort (there seem to be so many amazing adult only resorts). thanks again!

I wish I could be of more assistance, but I am a gazebo bride with a beach reception.  So I was focused on finding a resort with a good gazebo.  There should be lots of brides on the forum that were searching for beach ceremony sites that can fill you in on what they found.

Hey there, I also wanted a beautiful beach and needed it to be kid friendly.. have you checked out the Palace resorts? There is Cancun Palace, Beach Palace (where I am getting married) that are all ages... and they are pretty well adept @ wedding production...there are negatives (nonresponsive wedding coordinators until you get closer to the date, high costs for extras and outside vendor fees, if you can get them approved...) but there are lots of positives too (wedding packages, middle of the road pricing, nice resorts, nice beaches).

Hey there!  I'm getting married at Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen and had the same concerns as you.  I have a 17 year old, 8 year old and twin 5 year olds that will be traveling with their parents, and my FI and I wanted to get married on the beach.  Palace Resorts also has a great complimentary wedding package, and perks based on how many rooms or room nights your party books (i.e. comp nights, cocktail hour or reception after the wedding).  I did a ton of research and PP was the absolute best fit for me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
