Hello:

I'm planning on getting married August 27, 2011 at this resort and I picked the Blueberry Dream package. I picked this resort because it looks so nice from the pictures and its an all inclusive (a plus). My Barcelo WC name is Romina. She's very nice and responsive so far but I've seen other brides on this website say that they hired an outside WC just to make sure everything went well on their wedding day. I'm planning on doing the same. Let me know if you have any questions.msnwink.gif

Chitown Bride,

I just got back from my amazing wedding at the Barcelo Los Cabos...... it was more than I could ever have hoped for.  And there is absolutely NO need to hire an outside wedding coordinater.   The 2 ladies on site at the Barcelo, Romina & Abigail will take care of everything for you.  I met with them the day I arrived went through everything and then the day before we did a quick rehersal.  It was my dream wedding.  You just need to be able to trust that when you get there everything will be done.   I never bombared the resort with emails before hand, I just had a good idea of what I wanted and they delievered on everything.

oooh that sounds amazing! So happy that things worked out for you!!! I'm looking to have mine in October and I already reserved my date with them BUT i'm still waiting to hear back about putting a deposit down.

Did you tell them what you wanted before heading down? Or when you arrived at the resort?

Congrats on your big day!!

I think the one thing every Bride planning a destination wedding needs to realize and understand is that everything is done once you get there.  Unless you hire an outside wedding coordinater.  You just need to trust that it will all fall into place, and believe me it does.  I picked out my flowers a few days before we left because they need to order them in.   But the resort will get in touch with you to make those arrangments.  Everything else is handled once you get there.

I was pretty organized, so when I met with the ladies I had everything printed out on how I wanted things.... and they delievered.

I never sent any emails to the resort asking questions, because honestly they don't have time to respond to every email they get  And you will just frustrate yourself and get upset if you try.  A destination wedding is not the same as a wedding you would plan in your home town.

Just try and relax and enjoy the process..... Believe me, my wedding day was the best day of my life and everything turned out amazing!!

Hi Wholowach,

That is good to know!! I am so happy to hear your wedding went off without a hitch. Which package did you choose? I chose the Blueberry Dream package with appetizers and cocktails only. I wanted a non-traditional wedding. I'm thinking about getting the dance floor (lighted) and lighting under the tables for extra decor. I don't have a DJ tho. i wasn't planning on getting one. Do you think I need one for announcements? At the reception, did someone announce you and the wedding party once you got back from taking pictures? Also did you have someone annouce the throwing of the bouquet and the garter? I need help! crybaby2.gif

Hey Girl,

I went with the Mint Breeze Package, which was a dinner (SOOO GOOD!) it was for 3 hours and then we paid for an extra hour so we could dance/drink/party.

We got a dance floor (not lit up) included and it was fine for dancing on.

I rented there sound system and hooked up my IPOD. It comes with a Mic and someone to work the music... it was perfect.  I then had our Best Man introduce us when we walked in and he hosted/MC'd the rest.  We never did alot of speeches cause for us we just wanted everyone to relax, dance and have a good time.

I wasn't going to do the tradtional throwing of the bouquet and garter toss.   But during the night one of my girls asked me to toss the bouquet, so I just announced myself that I was going to do it.

All you really need is to rent there sound system... hook up your IPOD with your play list and the rest will take care of it self.  The guy that works the system will also play some of his music which is typically dance top 40 stuff.  It all worked out great for us.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

WOW! Sounds like everything worked out amazing! I was thinking of going with the Mint Breeze as well and renting the sounds system for a couple hours. Do you have pictures from your day?? I was talking with one of the people from barcelo weddings and I gave them my date for October, they said they have marked it down on their calendar. So once I have my confirmed guest list, do i just email them the attachments? I am quite confident with their abilities to pull this off, and every other bride out there say the same thing you are, I just want to make sure they keep my date for me, it's "on hold" until the deposit does down.

Did you have your reception outside or in the banquet room??

As for announcements, we will probably delegate that task to the best man :) why not right??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
