  1. I rented my decor outside the resort for the reception. That was only because I wanted something different and that's not to say the resort couldn't have done it for me. But just the way I am personality wise, I wanted it taken care of before hand. I have attached a photo of my decor. The girls will keep your date until you put your deposit down, so don't worry about that. I totally understand its hard to put faith in one of the most important days of your life, but it all works out the way it is suppose to in the end. And also, remember, the day is about your marriage, not about the minor details no one notices but the bride.
  2. Hey Girl, I went with the Mint Breeze Package, which was a dinner (SOOO GOOD!) it was for 3 hours and then we paid for an extra hour so we could dance/drink/party. We got a dance floor (not lit up) included and it was fine for dancing on. I rented there sound system and hooked up my IPOD. It comes with a Mic and someone to work the music... it was perfect. I then had our Best Man introduce us when we walked in and he hosted/MC'd the rest. We never did alot of speeches cause for us we just wanted everyone to relax, dance and have a good time. I wasn't going to do the tradtional throwing of the bouquet and garter toss. But during the night one of my girls asked me to toss the bouquet, so I just announced myself that I was going to do it. All you really need is to rent there sound system... hook up your IPOD with your play list and the rest will take care of it self. The guy that works the system will also play some of his music which is typically dance top 40 stuff. It all worked out great for us. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  3. I think the one thing every Bride planning a destination wedding needs to realize and understand is that everything is done once you get there. Unless you hire an outside wedding coordinater. You just need to trust that it will all fall into place, and believe me it does. I picked out my flowers a few days before we left because they need to order them in. But the resort will get in touch with you to make those arrangments. Everything else is handled once you get there. I was pretty organized, so when I met with the ladies I had everything printed out on how I wanted things.... and they delievered. I never sent any emails to the resort asking questions, because honestly they don't have time to respond to every email they get And you will just frustrate yourself and get upset if you try. A destination wedding is not the same as a wedding you would plan in your home town. Just try and relax and enjoy the process..... Believe me, my wedding day was the best day of my life and everything turned out amazing!!
  4. Chitown Bride, I just got back from my amazing wedding at the Barcelo Los Cabos...... it was more than I could ever have hoped for. And there is absolutely NO need to hire an outside wedding coordinater. The 2 ladies on site at the Barcelo, Romina & Abigail will take care of everything for you. I met with them the day I arrived went through everything and then the day before we did a quick rehersal. It was my dream wedding. You just need to be able to trust that when you get there everything will be done. I never bombared the resort with emails before hand, I just had a good idea of what I wanted and they delievered on everything.
  5. Hi All Future Barcelo Brides, I just wanted to give you all a heads up and warning about a serious problem that has happened with me and my March 8th wedding at the Barcelo, Los Cabos. We have just found out that through almost all the tour operators that the resort has put a Stop Sell on the jr suite rooms, leaving guests to only book the higher end rooms at a higher cost At this time I am working with my TA to try and get some answers. It is so devasting to me that it is making me sick. I have sent out 90 invites and only 6 guests have booked, leaving the remaining guests with no option at this time but to book a higher suite, if they are willing and can even afford those.... which was not what we anticipated them paying. I have spoken to other brides that are getting married here and they have advised the same thing has happened to them... My heart is so shattered over this and I feel like everything is coming crashing down. Our guests have till the end of Oct to recieve a group rate but who even knows if these rooms will be available again, oh and to top it off, the Tour Operator has told us if we want to switch resorts, we will all loose our deposits.
