Wedding Day Beauty Prep

Ok - so in order to look our best, what should I be getting done and how early in advance should I be doing it? I've only ever had one facial, but I'm thinking that I need to get one at least three months out - do you then get one every month b/f the wedding? I'm also thinking about doing the teeth whitening thing - from the Crest white strips. Should I start doing that six months out?

Definitly don't do the facial right before! My friend had it done the day before. Her skin was so red. It looked find at the wedding, but was really stressful.

I'd start the white strips ASAP. You may notice some sensitivity and not want to do it all out for 6 months. I suggest getting sensitive toothpaste. I've been bleaching now to get ready for our engagement pictures next weekend. I will keep it up, but less frequent until the wedding. The few months before I'll start doing it more often. It makes my teeth really sensitive, so i can't do it as often as suggested.

I also started keeping track of how long it takes my nails to get to the length I like. Now I know to cut them 2 months before the wedding for them to be long, but not ready to break.

The other thing I've been working on is getting my eyebrows in shape. I started growing them out last year to fix overplucking I had done before. I went to a pro to help me shape them. I finally had them great & then she moved out of state. The new girl messed one up! So now I'm back to that process.

Looking good is so much work!

I'm the same way. I don't usually worry about beauty much. It's been a little stressful for me to think about all this to try to look just right for our engagement pictures.

I also plan on going to a Sephora next week & getting a free makeover to try new looks. I'm buying bare essentials, because I've heard so many great things about it. I plan on going back later & getting a bridal makeover, so I'll know what to do. I plan on doing my own makeup.

Oh, & my last beauty thing I have going on right now is growing out my hair. I haven't decided between an updo or half up/ half down. If it will be an updo, I don't plan on growing it much past my shoulders. If I'm wearing it half down, I want long curls & that will mean I need to grow it out starting now.

I am doing a facial, waxing, crest teeth whitening, highlights, and mani and pedi. For the facial, you should not get them more often than once every 3 months at the MOST, and that mitgh irritate your skin. I would get it once now, and once 2 weeks before the wedding. I think the 7 day crest whitestrips work well, so i am just doing it once a week beforehand. I am doing my highlighst 2 weeks beforehand, and nails and waxing the weekend before I leave.

I would suggest trying the 7 day strips at another time before the wedding & see how they make your teeth feel. You don't want to have painful sensitive teeth at the wedding. I know I'm an extreme case, because I already have sensitive teeth & the bleaching just adds to it, but everyone gets some sensitivity. When i first started bleaching the pain drove me crazy. It would've ruined my vacation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
