Any Suggestions for a Bride With Crutches?

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I are getting married in two weeks at the Excellence Resort in Playa Mujeres .  Since I have known him I have had two surgeries on my left knee.  The night of my bridal shower I tore the ACL in my right knee now requiring a third surgery in the three years we have known each other!  Some may call it bad luck, I say it's what brought us together in the first place.  I now will be spending my week long wedding in a huge knee brace and ugly crutches that I have used in all my past surgeries.  So I guess I have found my "something old" or maybe it found me?  No heels, no cute dresses, and all the hard work I have done to look my best on my wedding day were destroyed in a matter of seconds!

Anyway...Anyone have any suggestions on how to spice up my crutches so that they are not such an eye sore on my big day?

Sorry to hear about your knee...sad.gif

I think you can still get dressed up and do everything as planned. U can take pics without the crutches (carefully) u just have to be creative and use your hubby as a "prop" . U can always get your crutches hand painted or buy some lace or ribbon and dress them up. I think although you may feel as if your day will not be what you HOPED it to be, you have to make it what you WANT it to be..

Good luck!!

Sorry to hear about you knee. 4 weeks ago I was in Mexico and I fractured my tibia and I was on crutches. Th resort was large and I was exausted trying to walk around on them with a big cast. I suggest borrowing a wheelchair when you are there and using if to get around. I don't know if you want to use it for the ceremony or not. If you do I would research decoration wheelchairs for weddings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
