Dreams 6th room free promo

I'm hoping that a travel agent, or a past bride who has done the 6th room free promo at Dreams, can help me.... I'm so confused!

I have 20 rooms booked at Dreams Riviera Cancun for my wedding. 17 of them are double occupancy and 3 of them are single occupancy. My travel agent all along has been inconsistent in terms of telling me whether single occupancy rooms count towards this promo: at first she told me they would (but that obviously that would mean that your "free" room would be the lowest value room, thus the single occupancy rooms) and now she tells me that they don't count at all. I participated in a Dreams Riviera Cancun webinar a little while ago and asked one of the participating travel agents on there about this and she said that usually the resort will count single occupancy rooms. My TA is telling me though that for all of the groups she has done so far on this promo that only the double occupancy rooms have counted.

Is there any way to find out for sure about this what the resort will do? I really don't know who to believe! The thing is that if she's right I could add a second photog to my photog's room (switch him from being single to double occupancy) to make it 18 double occupancy rooms and then get a whole room free... I can't afford to pay for a second photog normally but I would be stupid not to book one if this is actually the case!

Any help you can give me right now would be SO appreciated - thanks!!!

Thanks Tammy.

TA says it is definitely only double occupancy rooms, but that ultimately we won't know until after final payment (this Thursday) which will be too late for me to add on a person to my photog's single occupancy room (to make him a double) if she's right. I called the resort this morning to see if they could help me out, since they will be the one's to determine the rebate, but they said I had to talk to my TA. Seems like there is no way to no for sure (which I think is just crazy), and I have been having such a string of bad luck lately I feel like no matter which way I gamble it's going to be the wrong way :(

Another question for anyone who knows: how big of a difference do different travel dates make? We've got 11 or 12 rooms starting on December 3rd, and then another 2 rooms starting on the 4th, and another 3 starting on the 5th....

My TA says she is sure that all the rooms starting on the 3rd will be counted but she isn't sure about the rest, since technically I think the rooms are all supposed to be the same travel dates!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
