Weird If I Walk Myself Down the Aisle?

Recommended Posts

That's what is great about destination weddings!  They are already inherently non-traditional so you can do whatever works best for you.  I think that at least half of the brides are planning to walk down the aisle by themselves.  Or you could try something different, like the bride and the groom walk down together?  Or the bridesmaids and maid of honor walk down with you?

Hey Ladies & Rosie (My fellow Royal PDC bride)

My father and I are not close at all so there is no way that he is walking me down the aisle.  I don't care what anyone thinks, I am not going to play "make believe" on my wedding day. I want it to be genuine and beautiful.  I was either going to walk myself down the aisle or I got an idea from a magazine about my FI meeting me half way. He thinks its too mushy (and a little corny) but the bridal magazine suggested that it would be romantic and sweet for your groom to see you walking down the aisle and come to meet you half way..

Picture it ladies - you are a vision on your day, everyone is looking at you. Your FI sees you walking and he comes to get you to walk you the rest of the way to the alter. Maybe he even gives you a hug in the middle the aisle (no kisses). Yup, I am a wack job romantic. (ok so maybe this is not genuine b/c its planned, but it seems beautiful enough!!love.gif)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
