Aww I am so sorry about this!  Do you have guests who already booked?  95% of our guests already booked and got flights so we would never be able to change the date.  I hope it works out for you!

So we are trying to see if we can change our date. Suddenly many of our US guests are saying they might not make it since our wedding is on a weekday. I wanted a Sunday originally but they told me they didn't do Sunday weddings, though after that other brides have been able to book Sundays.

We did ask around about this before we booked, and back then it wasn't a problem but now it is...*big sigh* I have emailed Ana to see what is available (if anything) and asked my travel agent to try to contact Ana as well to find out. I'm guessing I will have to call her on Monday since I kind of need to know.

Yeah, and on top of that I am starting a new job in a new state in less than 3 weeks, so trying to find a home and then move at the same time girl_werewolf.gif

We don't have anyone booked so far, but about 17 ppl coming for sure. So it is not too bad, we have told everyone to hold off on booking until we know for sure. I wished I would have just changed the date when I found out that Sundays were available. We are still wanting to get married in May (could consider last week in April or first week of June too) so if it is impossible than we'll just have to stick with the Wednesday.

Do you know on the top of your head if anyone else is getting married on your day? I'm hoping someone has cancelled during the past 6 months and there will be a spot somewhere.

Hanna, I thought awhile ago that Ana told me there was another wedding on the 6th, but I'm not positive.  I will ask again though, just in case I get an answer before you.  And I dont think anyone on this thread is the 7th or 8th, are they?  It would be nice if you could do that same weekend.  I'll let you know if i hear anything.

Lisa, I know!!! The wedding is suffering for sure, have not done a thing lately!! My TA got back to me 5 min ago with the available dates, but last time when she gave me dates they were totally different from what Ana told me when I called. I tried to call Ana but of course there was no answer, I will have to try again on Mon.

If my TA was right about the available dates, then it looks like I would actually be there during your week :) I will keep you posted.

Mia when are you getting married in april?

Thanks Erin!! That would be really nice of you! I tried to figure out what dates I have seen on the forum, but then realized that not every Now Jade bride will be on here haha! We would love to do it that weekend, since it is so close to our original date and fits everyone's schedule, if not it looks like it will be the week before.

Hi Lisa,

I am getting married on April 02nd. Yikes, the countdown is on!

Question for you ladies...I have been reading the comments that have been made in regards to the cost of the photographer that the resort provides and I have started to look into hiring my own. Do you think that 3 hours will be enough time to get all the pics that I will need?  What are your thoughts?

Thanks for your feedback!

Mia

Mia it depends which pictures are the most important to you. if you don't care about the getting ready pics and are ok with just ceremony, family, group pics and maybe a couple at the reception than 3hours is probably enough. If you are looking for one outside of the resort I would recommend Ivan Luckie.

Hi ladies,

We finally have confirmation of our date and have put our deposit down at Now Jade!! We decided to go with a weekday ceremony to avoid the weekend rush. It seems so far away though. I love the low-key no stress atmosphere of the destination wedding, but I don't feel like I have enough to do to keep me busy for 9 months (I'm sure I'll regret saying that later...)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
