Flowegirl Basket and Ring Bearer Pillow Question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We are having 4 flowergirls and 2 ring bearers (all of our nieces and nephews) in our ceremony. I do not want to transport 4 baskets for the girls and 2 pillows for the boys. What are some creative ideas as a replacement that are easy to transport and are not too expensive? I have thought of using just lace bags with flower petals but cannot find any that I actually like. For the boys I have seen little white boxes so maybe that.

I'm using tin sand pails for all of them (2 girls 2 boys), then I will tie bows w/ ribbon on the pails for the girls, leave them plain for the boys, petals in the girls, and sand w/ ring boxes for the boys. (They are all under age 5). I found them online for like 3.50, and to travel, you could stack them! Oh, and I'm just having their parents carry them so I don't have to...

I've seen some people use a large shell for the ring bearers....something you could definitely find once at your destination.....this is the route I'm going, plus it ties in with the whole beach themed wedding.

For the flower girl, I had seen this idea about guest having "wedding wands" instead of tossing petals....and thought what about this type of idea for the flower girl....something like a fairy wand. My flower girl is going to be 17 months when i get married and didn't think she'd really be able to handle a basket with petals or flowers!

You might consider crocheted basket which you can flatten when you pack. Then you can tie ribbons and beading around it to spruce it up!

I saw a show recently where the flower girls rang bells rather than throw flowers which essentially announced that the bride was coming. I LOVED IT!! I think I'm going w/ this idea instead. cheesy.gif

  • 1 month later...

I asked etsy seller AprilHilerDesigns to make a starfish kissing ball/pomander for me. Since I will be hand carrying it, I asked her to use artificial moss and artificial starfish. For the ring bearer, I will putting the rings inside a large shell.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
