Royal Decameron, Panama

Recommended Posts

Hi there! I am also an RD bride and I'm trying to iron out all the details with Julia. We opted for Club Med, but honestly we weren't even given an option for Sushi Samba. Now I'm scared! I would love to see pictures, but can't seem to track anything down.

I did opt for the chair covers as well. Is anyone doing a DJ or band.

Details! Details! Details!

Hi

i thought of joining this to really gather some great information from everyone on here.  My fiance and i are planning on getting married at the royal decameron in panama in early 2012.  nothing is booked yet but what better way to see pictures, know all the ins and outs of what not to do or what is worth doing.  Any help, suggestions is greatly appreciated.  i am such a planning myself so for me to have not alot of control or knowledge about something kinda scares me.  LOL  Any advice or suggestions for that day!

Hi All,

we are getting married Jan 26th, 2011 at the Royal Decameron.

I've booked Club Med restaurant for private dinner and dance.  I've opted out of a DJ (which I know is more work for me) and just booked the stereo system that allows for iPod's or CDs.

I've decided not to purchase any decoations (above what they give in the package I purchased) and will be bringing my own very simple decoations.

got my hair and massage booked, photographer.

Think I'm pretty much covered that way.

If anyone has questions I dont' know how much I can answer but do have contacts for the photographer and the spa.

Happy Planning!

Jen

$7 per person for exclusive (had to pay separate for the sound system & bartenders)
I just kep the Cafe Med for dinner and dance.  I hear it's near the beach so will be a nice view and cool to take walks or such on the beach.

Hope that helps (oh they charged me $80 for bartenders $40 x 2) and $200 for sound system.

Cheers,

Hi all brides-to-be!

I too am at the Decameron. Like Jen, we just booked the soundsystem. We've also paid the $7/person charge to have Club Med all night. We did opt to pay the $250 delivery charge for chairs and chair covers, otherwise we're bringing down basic decorations.

The WP did send me pictures of a couple of different weddings at Club Med. It looks great! If I find them, I will post.

Cheers

I've booked Cafe Med for my welcome/rehearsal dinner too!  It's awesome there, I especially love the band *but watch out for mosquitos!!!.  Did you girls also have to choose just a few items from a menu or are they letting you order from the whole menu?  When I went there in Sept, my mom and I had 3 plates with every dinner so we could try all the yummy dishes!  I found it surprising that they asked me to pick from the menu?

Jen - who is doing your hair/makeup? Are you doing a trial first too?  I can't believe you're BIG day is just around the corner!!  I wish you all the best and hope you have a beautiful wedding in Panama!  Take lots of pics and will be looking forward to your review!!

Hi JR14,

When I booked the wedding day dinner for Club Med they just gave me the menu.  I wans't given the option to pick but that's fine with me.

I wasn't planning on doing a trial, I know they reccomend it.  If I do, I will do one here and take a picture. I've booked my hair to be done at the spa, and makeup as of right now am doing myself.

3 weeks today, time flies!!! I can't wait. Getting through the next 3 weeks is going to be difficult.

Cheers!
Jen

You were able to just book the sound system?? Jealous! I wasn't even given that option. Julia just said that the disco movil cost  is $450  and include: Lights, sound, Dj, speakers, music.

What is included with the $200 package? Cos I would love to switch to that and just have someone from our group be in charge of the ipod all night.

Less than 2 weeks!

Jenn

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
