I didn't realize that I had responses!!!  I guess I wasn't really checking my posts correctly!  :-(

I did finally get in touch with the RIU Palace and set a date for Monday May 9th 2011.

It was very tough getting in touch with them....they are not very bride friendly....but...it was my FAVORITE place when we toured the hotels in February.  Its just gorgeous....I got goosebumps when I first saw it and knew it was meant to be.

We are getting married at the gazebo....so if there are sunbathers around you probably will not really see them.  Plus....my photographer is amazing and I think he will do a good job capturing & editing his shots to ensure they will not be a problem.

Does anyone have any information on DJ's, Videographers & a (non-hotel) planner?  We are having our reception at the California Lighthouse and I would like a planner to help me with that?

Jamie

Check out my wedding review.  You will find info about the vendors I used.

Hey Jamie-

We are getting married at RIU Palace Aruba on May 14, 2011.  I'm so glad to hear how much you liked it... We have never been there.  We stayed at RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas a few years ago and loved it, so we were comfortable going with a RIU Palace, and Aruba just sounded fabulous!  I would love to hear what plans you have made.  Who is your photographer?  Have you gotten information on DJs or bands?  How did you arrange for a reception at the Lighthouse and how does that work?  Is Carolina your wedding coordinator?

Thanks!

Hi!

While I am not a RIU bride, I am getting married at the Manchebo on June 11, 2011. I am super excited and LOVED Aruba when I first went there and can not wait to go back!

My wedding planner is Lissy Lampe who has been planning weddings on the island for years. A close friend of mine used her for her wedding a few years back, and I have a friend who is also using her for her August wedding. So far she has been great! She is arranging basically everything for us...DJ, photographer, flowers, cake etc.

I am happy to see a semi recent post on here since I was a Mexico bride for a few months before we made the switch to Aruba and they have so many boards for weddings there but not much for Aruba!

Good luck with your planning!

Hi Jamie,

Its funny how I just googled "destination wedding Riu Palace Aruba" and I saw your post and it was exactly how I feel right now!  I LOVE that venue and my fiance and I were there a few months ago to visit and tried three days in a row to meet with the wedding coordinator without any luck.  Did you end up having your wedding there?  Would you recommend it?  I am also from Boston and I feeling a little worried about planning a destination wedding to a place that far if you haven't really found any positive feedback... Any information you have would be fantastic!

Thank you so much!

Kirsten

Hi ladies! I have been trying to find out some information about having my wedding at the RIU. I see these were old posts so i was just wondering how your weddings went. Im curious about the reception and where its held? How was the food? Do you bring your own photgrapher and do they help with the flowers? Im just curious of the overall experience. Hope you can help. Thank you. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
