We are trying to decide on the location & resort which I hear (and hope) is the hardest part! We are finding only limited information on the RIU Palace Aruba and it has been a little slow hearing back from the resort after trying to request additional information. Can anyone share helpful insight on weddings at this resort? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated as we really have not seen many pictures of the ceremony venues or reception dinners. Thanks!

      Hi there!

I don't know much about the RUI Palace Aruba, except that when we went to Aruba in the fall of 2007 we thought it was the most beautiful of all the resorts from the beach. We stayed at the Hyatt down a little ways, but the RUI Palace was extremely impressive. One other thing I can tell is that we met a couple during a tour who was staying there and they told us that it was very beautiful inside, but another friend of their's who was also staying there had a room that had not been renovated and was unhappy. The couple we talked to had a renovated room and loved theirs. Hope that helps.

        Hello-

I don't have any information to share with you but just wanted to say hello from a fellow Aruba bride. When I was also doing research I never was able to find any pictures/ past brides from the RIU. Maybe the wedding coordinator can send you pictures and get you in touch with a past RIU bride.

        Good Luck!!

I, too, considered Riu Aruba for my wedding but had the hardest time getting anyone to respond to my inquiries. I tried several times by both phone and email and didn't hear back so I figured that it probably would not be a good idea to do a wedding there. It does look amazing.

We are getting married at the Hyatt Regency right next door. It is beautiful and so far the wedding planner has been very helpful.

          Good luck!!!!

            Hello all

I am also consdering the Riu Palace Aruba, my only concern is I cannot seem to find anymore information about the Ceremony locations as on some reviews the Ceremony takes place amongst the sunbathers on the beach, any idea is there is a more private location offered?

            Thanks

I found a few pictures of a wedding at the RIU Aruba a few weeks ago. If I can find them again I will PM you.

Any updates on this? I am also considering the RIU but have not yet set the date. After searching around for several dfferent wedding venues/options/photogs....I feel that Aruba hasn't really gotton on the dw bandwagon!!! Pictures and feedback would be great!

Thanks everyone for your help!  Its funny because I just saw these responses now (a few months after my initial post).

                  I didn't realize that I had responses!!!  I guess I wasn't really checking my posts correctly!  :-(

I did finally get in touch with the RIU Palace and set a date for Monday May 9th 2011.

It was very tough getting in touch with them....they are not very bride friendly....but...it was my FAVORITE place when we toured the hotels in February.  Its just gorgeous....I got goosebumps when I first saw it and knew it was meant to be.

We are getting married at the gazebo....so if there are sunbathers around you probably will not really see them.  Plus....my photographer is amazing and I think he will do a good job capturing & editing his shots to ensure they will not be a problem.

Does anyone have any information on DJ's, Videographers & a (non-hotel) planner?  We are having our reception at the California Lighthouse and I would like a planner to help me with that?

                  Jamie

foops&smoops - check your PMs.  I sent you the contact info for several photographers and videographers from when I was doing my research.  Hope it helps.

I'm interested in the RIU Palace Aruba but have a few concern about how public the two ceremony locations are.  I was interested in the gazebo because I don't want to walk in sand and the view is obstructed by the tiki beach umbrellas and I'm concerned that there will be sunbathers in my photos and video.  I'm also concerned about how uncomfortable the beds are especially our most recent experience staying at the RIU Montego Bay.  The bed photos at Aruba look just like our beds in Montego Bay, hard and hard.
