I recommend a condo, it makes things easier to have people book their own accommodations. VRBO has been a great money saver. There are so many options out there. Do your research and anything you decide will be great!

Thanks for the help! I think we are going to go with Condos. Now comes the hard part of trying to find one that fits the budget!!

I LOVE staying at a condo over a hotel. The one we stay at is right on Sugar Beach, so you can wander out to the beach in the morning with your coffee. With a condo you can grocery shop, make breakfast each morning (fresh pineapple!), bbq by the beach - it just feels more homey to me.

I agree that this method usually gets you a very nice room at a cheaper price. It seems like the best way to go! My FI and I ended up deciding to move around a little bit rather than book a full week in one place though... We caught a few deals after searching the internet forever! We ended up in a condo for a few days north of Kaanapali and then some nicer hotels in Wailea/Makena.

I've used VRBO several times, and have always had good luck. There are several condo complexes in Kaanapali that are very nice and reasonably priced!
