    Hello ladies~

I was just wondering if anyone out there owns their own wedding related business? If so would you mind sharing how you got started and issues and/or successes that you've had along the way?

I absolutely love anything and everything to do with weddings and think it would be a great business to get into, but I'm having a hard time finding my "niche" and I'm terrified of taking the money investment risk with the way the economy has been. Just looking for some inspiration =)

i don't have one, but i have a friend who started a wedding stationary business after planning hers. she's did our STD's and is working on our invites.

is there something specific you are good at? ex. graphic design? flowers? fashion? cakes?

think about the aspect you like the most...and see what you could offer that isn't already being offered. what you could do differently to market as your niche. or what is going on in your area. do you want an online business?

lots to think about...but i'm sure you will find the area that is right for you.

good luck and keep us posted what you decide! best advertising is word of mouth!

Obviously I own a wedding related business, as I'm a wedding photographer. But I think it's important to first know what you want to get into.
What is it with weddings that you want to do? Are you good at baking cakes, decorating receptions, flower arrangements, etc?
Next, working with weddings is not the easiest thing, and remember weddings happen on Saturdays typically. So most of your weekends will be gone.
