Hilton wedding I NEED YOUR HELP!

Hey everyone! I'm getting married at the Hilton in January 2011. I've just started planning. I've been looking for photographers, florists,& cake decorators. Money is an issue, have any of you worked with people that are good and not too pricey? I've seen a couple of people I would like to go with, but it seems like most of the people I have received a reply from don't work with the Hilton. So can you give me any help? I want AMAZING pictures so I'm willing to do a little higher if needed. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks!!!

 

Oh and do you know if the Hilton will let you bring in your own people if I can't find one I like that they work with?

I feel really happy with my vendors, I am not sure if they work with the Hilton, but I feel really good about the prices I was quoted. The vendors I am using are:

Gilda Badillo-photography

Baja video productions-videography

Dj Ricardo-DJ

Dennis Catering-Lounge Furniture

Flowers-Florenta

Cake-Dreams Resort

Congrats! I got married at the Hilton in May 2009 and it was amazing, everything we hoped for. You can see my review where I detail all our vendors in my siggy below. Here is a slideshow of our wedding by Juan Carlos Tapia too - he was our number one choice.

You should also do a search of the forum on the Hilton - there are several brides who have been married there. I second the recommendation of DJ Ricardo, he was very reasonably priced and great to work with - he also did the sound set up for our ceremony that was much cheaper than the Hilton.

 

I did hear that at some point the Hilton started requiring people to use their preferred vendors, but I don't know if that was true (our contract did not have a restriction, though we used their preferred florist and cake person). If you haven't signed your contract yet, or even if you have, make sure you know what it says about vendors. Even if it does have a restriction, one of the best peices of advice I had from this forum on working with the Hilton was to just ask if they could do something. They can say no, but more often than not they were willing to work with you. Good luck.

Thanks! that helps a bunch. I also have noticed some of the Hilton brides saying that they could only use hiltons vendors. I haven't been able to contact my WC to make sure yet. I am mainly worried about the photographer, we are having a very private ceremony and will need a lot of great pictures to show our family and friends. I have checked out Gilda Badillo she does good work and has a nice price. I've heard a bunch of people mention Juan Carlos. I haven't checked out his work yet (but plan to as soon as I get done with this posting

If this helps anyone I have also contacted Jerome Dieu and Daniel Jireh. They both do work at the Hilton.

I'm a little more at ease with the florists. I'm only a bridezilla when it comes to the photography lol, but I do need to get in contact with them to see if they can have the flowers I am wanting. I need Black calla lilies and the only lady I've talked to that could get them doesn't work with the Hilton. So if anybody could help me out with emails or websites. I really really need to talk to some people.

Check with Martha at Mazarte Floral - she works with the Hilton and was our florist and got us amazing hydrangeas the exact color we wanted. I would be really surprised if she couldn't get what you wanted.

I just had my wedding in December at the Hilton and was very happy with my vendors. If you haven't signed your contract yet, I would suggest you call or email Tathiana Pinotti and ask her about the vendors. She was my WC.

We haven't signed a contract yet, but I have talked to Tathiana through email. She hasn't responded to my email about vendors yet though. (It's been about a week.) I have talked to Jennifer Hattonand I'm pretty sure we will get her to do the cakes. Our photographer said he works with the Hilton and I've taken the flower advice of going with Mazarte Floral. We originally were going to go with Florenta, but they don't do work with Hilton. Thanks for all the help ladies!

OH! I almost forgot Have any of you used the Hiltons spa for your make-up and hair?

I haven't heard anything about them and not sure if I want to use them or not :/

I am a wedding photographer and wish you the best of luck in your hunting. If you check out the vendor market place there may be some offering discounts in order to help build their portfolio and get started with destination weddings( I know at least one). That would be a great way to get a good photographer at a lower price point. Hope that helps and happy hunting!
