Welcome Party in Cancun

Recommended Posts

My fiancee and I would like to host a welcome party for our guests. Is anyone else doing this? If so, what are you doing? We need some creative ideas for a fun night in Cancun away from the hotel for about 50 people, ranging in age from 21 to 65. We're considering a dinner cruise but would also like to hear what other options might be out there for a fun evening event. Also, if anyone has any dinner cruise information that they could share, that would be great too! Thanks!

ummm, i don't know what you guys call them, like the female equivilent to a batchelor party! a Batchelorette party!

do you guys celebrate with batcherlorette/hen parties? we REALLY do! I have four in the UK before i go one for a weekend with my school friends to a suprise destination, one with another set of friends for three nights in Ibiza, one with my family at a spa for a weekend and one with EVERYONE for dinner and drinks and dancing at a mexican restaurant in London :)

I had intentions of having a cocktail hour at my resort, but now with so many people booking alternative hotel arrangements we are now looking for a restaurant to host our get to gather. My suggestion would be the dinner cruise if you have room in your budget.

Mardigras - Conco Bongo would be really fun! We were thinking of doing that another night. Have you looked into group rates or a group discount yet? We were there in April last year and overheard a big group negotiating their cover at the door but we would rather take care of the haggling ahead of time if possible. Also, do you know the company your friend used for the Catamaran tour? And if she was happy with them?

Woodsylou - We are looking into a day tour/snorkel trip in addition to the welcome party so let me know if you find a good company. It's so hard to know who to use without being able to meet with them in person. If I come across anyone, I'll let you know too.

We are also having a night out at the Coco Bongo as a "last fling before the ring" :) We are planning to reserve tables since our guests range in age between 20's and 80 - that way we will have an area to congregate rather than being all over the crowded club!

The night prior to the wedding, we are planning to have a welcome dinner for all of our guests following the ceremony walk thru - basically a groom's dinner but everyone is included!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
