Caterer Recommendations?

Hello!

 

I am relatively new to this forum...I've read a lot of posts about caterers and some of the pricing...some posts says you can expect to pay $20-$30USD for a nice meal (but they were posted a while back), others quote much higher prices $80+. I've gotten quotes from some caterers, and I am starting to wonder if the $20-$30 price range actually exists?! The quotes I've received are well over $40-50, once you add in the taxes.

 

Does anyone have any info or recommendations on this?

Hi there! I have to say- our estimate was higher than we thought it would be.

Our menu falls in the $80+ category per head - but that includes hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, salad course, choice of steak or fish and a sorbet course (which I think we are eliminating). That said- it also includes tables, basic linens, china, glassware, silverware, etc... did the quotes you were receiving include those items- I think that is where it can start to add up. I think you can find a caterer that can be flexible and will work within your budget- are you using a WC? I'm sure they would have recommendations based on what you are looking for.... :)

Just to clarify my question...looking for caterers who's dinner with or without appetizer options, start in the $20-$30 price range (NOT including rentals). I know this is possible in other parts of Mexico...of course PV is a tourist area, but just wondering if anyone knew of anyone. Thanks!

I would second the wedding coordinator recommendation. They can really help you find a caterer and then work with them to find something in your budget. They know who is good to work with/reliable and can help coordinate all of that - I found that its really hard to do that all on your own since it takes so long to get responses back from here for many places.       Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
