Want to Get Married in Florida before boarding our Cruise

Hi Ladies,

I need any input possible. I wanted to have a wedding at home at first, but i don't have a lot of guests from my side and lets just say even though he has a HUGE family, they aren't the friendliest. I really just want the two of us to be married..... even if we just have a notary do it, but I dont want to look back and regret it. So here are my ideas.

- Get married, and go on a cruise and do a Vowel Renewal Package, not only is it cheaper, but its something simple with just the two of us.

- Or, get married in Florida, like the day before or morning before boarding a cruise. I just dont know anything about Florida. Where would I look at to find someone who may could marry us on the beach or at our hotel, the day before or morning of our Honeymoon Cruise. Also, here's a little history on our situation.

We have been together for almost 9 years, (since we were 16). We have one daughter, and have everything that married couples have, except for the papers and the same last name. I just want us to be married, like yesterday, so it's so hard for me to wait until May 2010. Urrrrr, Im just ready to be married already.....

Anyways, thanks for listening, and again any advice or inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.smile36.gif

Well we plan on getting married in Florida the day before our cruise leaves. Theres alot of companies that will marry you. I want a beach wedding so thats what we plan on doing. I want to just do it with us and our kids, but he wants parents and siblings. I think I might win the battle and just do a At home reception since none of our family live where we live, it will take place in our hometown.

We're thinking of doing the same thing, getting married on the beach before we get on the cruise. If you want to do it through the cruise, they have a set location at each port where you can have a beach wedding around 9:30 am and then everyone boards the ship if you're going to do a reception on the ship. Through RC, they have a spot called Sunset Cove if you're cruise is leaving from Miami. They have lots of options through the cruise, or you can plan it yourself, which is sometimes cheaper.

We are planning to do our wedding the day before our cruise leaves (Jan. 17th) It will be my fiance, our 7 year old son and both sets of parents. I've been doing a lot of research for our small wedding. We want something on either Miami beach or Ft. Lauderdale (or somewhere in between). I originally chose to go with elegantfloridabeachweddings.com, however I pulled out right before the deposit went through. Each time I talked to the coordinator on the phone (who was not easy to get a hold of) she had kids to keep asking me to repeat myself (kids crying, talking in the background). She didn't respond to one of my emails, and another time she quoted me a price for decorations then said it was $100 more the next time we talked. She also said she would email me some references but never did...so I wouldn't recommend this company. I have also been looking at foreverinlove.net and they have some good references and she's quick to return calls and email. Tropicalmiamibeachweddings.com, celebrationwedding.com, and thefloridabeachweddings.com.....well that's what I've found so far (that I thought were priced well for what you get). Hope this helps

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
