Sandals Bahamas

Hello all -

I am new here and posted this in another forum but was sent here. I have to admit I have used forums before but I am very confused with this one. I'm not sure where to post what.

We are doing a destination wedding and we are thinking Bahamas ( Sandals ) my fiancee has been told that it is boring at the Bahamas and there is nothing to do but go to the beach. Any thoughts on this?

The other option was Jamaica, which my fiancee thinks would be more fun. Are the Bahama's boring?

Join us on October 8th for the sandals webinar- at the webinar we will go through each of the Sandals resorts and also the islands that they are on!

To answer your questions-many peopel love the Bahamas, but it really depends on what the two of you like to do for activities. If you are water sports & casino type of people you will be thrilled with the Bahamas. If you like a variety of activities such as hiking, swim with dolphins, ziplines ect you may want to look at another island such as Jamaica, St Lucia ect!

I think that is what I am finding and I've been to neither so it will be a new experience either way.

Just a preference I suppose. As long as we wont be bored I think we would both be very happy with our choice.

We are going for 12 days and it seems to me in Jamaica I would start to get sick of the resort life, if that's possible. If I'm at the Bahamas I understand it is easier to go outside the walls and explore the island and get around the island.

This is my 1st post so THANKS for all the help. I think this site is going to be a good find in helping to get the wedding together.

I would say it depends on the type of fun you are looking for. In Jamaica you can find parties that go until sunrise and in the Bahamas they aren't as "wild" in JA.

My family is from JA and IMO, JA is the true party island, you can party in Bahamas also but I go there when I want to relax more than party.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
