I stayed at the Fairmont in July. It was great. Our room overlooked the ceremony location and I shot a couple of photos in passing:

the hotel is pretty pricey, but the service was fantastic.

We were in a 'garden view' room, but it was an end unit, so our balcony wrapped around and we had an ocean view as well.

eta: we stayed in the resort, not the villas. The villas are located closer to the beach and look pretty fabulous, but the rooms in the hotel were very large, and nice.

Hi luna1park. We stayed at the Fairmont last summer and loved it. We debated between here, the Four Season, the Ritz, and the Grand Wailea, but ultimately we booked the Fairmont and we were glad that we did.

The staff is extremely attentive and helpful. We had lunch at the pool bar which proved to be a lot of fun, and the bartender (I wish I remember his name!) was extremely helpful. He pulled out a map of the area and gave us a guided dinner tour using the Fairmont's private car service. It was great :)

There are a lot of kids at the resort, but they do have an adult pool area (see the photo above)

It is pricey at the hotel, so I do recommend stopping by the Costco, or the other large markets near the airport on your way to the resort in order to cut down on the cost of booze & snacks. There is a minibar with a refrigerator in the suite. On average, lunches (with drinks) were around $100 at the hotel, so be prepared.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

*butting in* I stayed here a couple of years ago and this hotel is fabulous!!! It was by far the best vacation ever and the staff treated us like royalty! The activites desk will set everything up for you and charge it to your room if you prefer. Food was awesome...breakfast on the balcony was breathtaking. I was sooo sad to leave.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
