Just a suggestion. But, if you don't feel comfortable doing that; then deffinitely buy the trasfer:)
I forgot, they don't allow regular cabs in the gates... Maybe I should just get the transfer...

i arranged my transfer through Tammy (host) - she's a Travel Agent. it just made it so much easier to have it prearranged given that we had a ton of luggage and just wanted to get to the hotel!

i think it was like $34 round trip. i may have been able to get it cheaper, but that's so not what i wanted to be dealing with right then!

Dreams lets cabs in provided that you can give your room number, otherwise just say your checking in. I think a cab would be less expensive but if you aren't used to flying into PV get a shuttle. There are tons of cab drivers who aren't really cab drivers and you could be seriously delayed and annoyed, not a pleasant start to your holiday. A shuttle is worth spending the extra $15 or so.

my cab from the airport to Dreams didn't even stop or talk to us - not sure if they just knew him or what. then when i left Dreams to go to my hair trial appt. they just asked my room # on the way out, and then back in.

Hmmm, we left quite a lot for clubs/shopping/etc. and each time coming and going they asked us. Sometimes they visibly counted the number of people in the cab going to a particular room and I assume wrote it on the chart where they wrote our room number.

One cab driver told me that they are so strict because there are no wristbands and once you're in it's easy to take advantage of everything. He also told us that they take each taxis number/license as they come and go and I've seen that first hand. Twice I heard them ask where he was coming from. We never had problems getting in though, I thought it was just a formality.

We arrived as a large group and used both cabs and pre-paid transfers. I think the cabs are cheaper and more efficient. We never had any problem getting in Dreams, but the do monitor which cabs come and go. We had guests leave articles in cabs TWICE, but we contacted Dreams/concierge right away and they were able to track the taxis and returned the items. I was VERY surprised and impressed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
