Flower questions!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I see quite a few brides have peonies in their bouqets, problem is I don't see that flower on the availability list for Mexico. Do they not exist there?

Also, I would love some tips on colours. I will be wearing ivory and my bridesmaid will be in a turquoise/blue/green dress.

Many thanks for any help :)

Anything is possible with enough time and cash! LOL

If you really want peonies, check with your wedding coordinator. I know they can be pricey here in the US, so I would expect to pay a premium in MX because they will have to be specialy ordered.

I love peonies and chose to go with high quality silks to save money and so I didn't have to worry about them wilting in the heat.

There are lots of Turquoise/Aqua brides, so be sure to use the search button. The most common color combos seems to be green, yellow, orange, pink, or red with the turquoise.

I also wore an ivory dress with my bridesmaids in aqua. I choose to have white & pink for my flowers (this is what the florist recommended & I was skeptical, but they turned out beautiful.) The bouquets had white cymbidium orchids with hot pink throats, hot pink freesia & hot pink roses (was suppose to be tulips, but ended up not being able to get tulips on Maui in May), there was also a bit of green for filler, but not much. The pink with the ivory & aqua looked amazing & I'm so glad that I followed the florists' advice. Good luck!!

Thanks for your help. I also have to coordinate with the colour of the draping on the aisles. I am either going to have purple or green :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
