MRHOADES... terrible ..honestly, I hated David's Bridal, but my cousin found her dress 7 years ago and it was great. I guess you just had the "lemon". Anyway, I am sure there are plenty of shops you can go to that will be able to help you out. Sometimes you can even buy it off the rack. Try department stores as well. I hope it all goes well for you.. You have a full month, but I would start looking now and make your decision soon.

Lots of luck

PS- HOW DO I POST MY STD PICS FROM a MAC COMP. It wont let me do it..

Hi, fellow MP brides!

I was just married there last week and had an amazing experience. I just added a review on here. Hopefully it will help someone. I had a very simple ceremony and went with the complimentary package, so I don't have much info on all of the extras. But, if you have questions about the resort/restaurants/tours, etc, I can help!

Good luck everyone!

Heather

Sorry to hear about your trouble with David's. I, too, had a problem with them and upon voicing that to my friends, found out that most of them did too. I think they are too large to be as concerned about customer service as a locally owned store.

As for where to stay at Moon Palace, we just got back on Friday and if I had to go again, I would stay in the new Grand section. It was beautiful! It is more secluded and there are not as many oceanview rooms, but we didn't take advantage of our oceanview anyway! If you want to be in the center of the action, stay in Sunrise. Our room was at the end of Sunrise, so equal distance from that lobby and Nizuc lobby. It was convenient, but I would have loved to have the quiet of Grand. Plus, the pools there are infinity pools (love those!) and way less crowded.

Must be getting soo excited!! Don't be nervous (I know easier said than done..I am nervous too) from past brides they say as soon as you get there, they cater to your every needs. Advice from others ...just have everything you want with you and show them what you have!!

Hope all goes well!

Question- How many guests are you having? I am expecting about 60. Every night more guests are coming. Are you arranging for meeting spots with your guests? I want to have an itinerary, but not one that they HAVE to follow, but somewhat of a plan..

I am expecting about 35 guests. I am taking my OOT bags with me and putting them together in Mexico. I will have my bridal party help with transporting if I have too much.

I just noted on one of my brochures that we will be meeting at the sky bar at 6 pm to greet everyone arriving. And than I have the welcome dinner the night before the wedding.

Just curious, for those who have used the group contract did anyone of your guests use their timeshare? Did the MP honor those days?

My grandparent in-laws (if that is a word) have a time share there and we were not able to count it towards our nights.... It would have helped because they are staying 7 nights.

I had my first wedding set-back and oh man have I been stressed over the weekend. I found a wonderful light weight wedding dress with a beautiful organza layer over the top of it from David's Bridal. I went for my final dress fitting on Friday night and once I got the dress on I started noticing all these little snags in the dress. They were all over, and there was even a hole in the back of the dress! I couldn’t believe it! They told me that they had this problem with this dress a few other times, and that I could pick out a new dress. I decided I didn’t want to get another dress from them; I don’t have time for them to mess up another dress. We leave May 17th! So we asked for our money back, and with no questions asked, they refunded us everything. So now with only about 6 weeks to go, we start the search for another dress. We called a small privately owned Bridal Store (we are going there tonight) and they said having something done by May wouldn’t be a problem. I have never had any problems with David’s with any of the bridesmaid dresses I have gotten from them….but never again would I recommend them to anyone!
I agree, I don't too much care for Davids Bridal. I got my wedding dress from there, but needless to say I put it up for sale. I ended up getting another dress from a different store. Well my bridesmaids got their dresses from there. One of them had to send their dress back because they sent her an irregular size! GEEZ!!! And lets not talk about customer service. It really is a hit or miss. i ended up getting my hostess dresses from their online store, so I didn't have to worry about going into the store. Every time I go, it's always PACKED full of people and not enough help. I guess the positive side is that I can use the $20.00 off all other dresses because I bought a wedding dress from there...... Good Luck with finding your wedding dress. I am sure you will find it and it will be all that you hoped for! Happy Shopping :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
