sharing some photos with all of you ;) the light up dance floor really does wonders and i strongly suggest it. even though my table runners were lavendar and ended up being too light against the white and the same for the chair bows... it doesnt really matter. i basically had a white set up with a light up dance floor and i think it was really cool ;)

beautiful!! i can't wait to see all of them! :)

So I have a question..... i was emailed a link to my photos and told to pick 180 i think. now once i pick them what happens exactly, do i get regular sized prints of them or do i get them blown up? is that all an extra charge? This has me totally confused because they didnt say to pick which ones i want made bigger etc.... of course i want some to be larger than others to be hung up and so forth...  they also told me to mark the 150 i want in the album.

i was thinking of getting an extra small sized photo book for my parents... did anyone do this and know the extra charge? im wondering if i should do it myself or have them do it?

just confused about this whole aspect....

ALSO any suggestions for good songs for the slide show? they just asked me to send them my song I want and im at work and really want my slideshow lol so im trying to think of what to use

Emily,

They don't do prints unless you purchase them separately.  They are ala carte.  The 180 you are to pick are to go on a CD that they send you.  If you want prints you have to get them done separately from the disc they send you.  They do canvas there and the photo book which is like a shutterfly book.

Lindsey, did you find you had enough photos with package 3?  I'm assuming you got 100 + some extra from your wedding package?  Sometimes I think "oh 150 will be tons" and then I hear that some people had a hard time narrowing it down to 300 and I start to worry that we'll just end up paying for a ton of extra images.

I did think I had enough photos.  It was hard to choose but I know if I had more I wouldn't look at them all the time and when I did it would take forever.  Now I just look at my album from time to time and enjoy the memories but it didn't seem necessary to pay for all the photos.  Plus they want a ridiculous amount for them!  I was very satisfied with our decisions regarding photography!

Emily, your wedding looks so beautiful!  I really like the touch of lavender in your set-up on the beach, it looks so pretty.  And the flowers on the bamboo arch look so nice.  We have Santiago too, so I'm really excited to see your slideshow and the rest of your pictures from him!  Great advice about making a list of the different pictures you want to do in advance...  I've watched so many slideshows at this point, and I always see pictures that I love and think "oh we should do definitely do one like that!", but then I don't write it down and forget all about it, haha.

I think the only extra cost for cakes is the per person price. Unless you want something very detailed! Included is for 20 people and then $4 extra per person. Here is a pic of mine and all we had to pay was for the extra people. The flowers and everything were all in the standard price. (I brought my own topper though)

700

Is anyone using a different photographer than Adventure?  We are booked with Juan Navarro for our pictures and it was my understanding that since we don't need the pictures that are included in the Ultimate package that we could not exchange it for anything else other than photos.  We are planning on doing a meet and greet at the lobby bar with our guests and decided to use our included photos and album then.  I emailed Adventure and the response was that we only get a 30 minute shoot and we were told "Keep in mind that when you decide to use the package for a different time other than the ceremony the amount of images delivered could be less than 50."

How is this fair???  If we have already paid for a certain amount of pictures and photographer time, why do we get less just because it isn't during the ceremony??

I am so annoyed by this.  Has anyone else been told this?

Another question, we are planning on paying for the hair, makeup, and a mani or pedi for the bridesmaids the day of the wedding.  We are supposed to get a 15% discount on services with the Ultimate package.  Shouldn't this appy for all of the services for the bridal party since it is being billed to our room and not theirs?

We have stayed at other Amresorts before and whenever we did ANY type of service at the spa or salon we were allowed to use the hydrotherapy circuit.  Dreams is telling me $43 per person for us to go the day of the wedding even though we are spending so much money there!

What are the rest of you planning on doing the day of your wedding?  We were planning on the girls spending the day at the spa.  I'm starting to feel so ripped off with things!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
