My fiance and I have been together almost nine years, our home is pretty well established. While there are a few things I'd love to register for like a set of china and other various items. I don't feel right about registering for gifts, which is why I haven't to this point.

Several people have called to ask us where we are registered, I've told them that we're not registered and most have said they would like gift ideas.

Should I go ahead and register, even though we've been together this long and I've already sent out the invites? If do register, what are things that are appropriate to register for? Also, how would I let people know where we registered?

Sorry for so many questions, I'm kinda stumped on this one! :)

I would definitely register as people like to buy you things off your registry..register for that china you want and anything else you need. Only tell people where you are registered if they ask...just let your mom and bridesmaids (if you have any) know and most likely people will ask them as well.

We also have been together a while and have owned a home for several years, we registered for nicer versions of thing we already have. New towels, sheets to replace what is getting worn. Also new dishes, we have a set but they were passed down and not really our style.

We also put some large ticket items to encourage maybe a gift card or group gift so we don't end up with things we already have.

I think a registry is always great! it doesnt matter how long you have been together!! they are celebrating you as a couple! You can spread the word through all different types of communication. I know when you register @ the bigger stores it asks if you would like to send an e-vite email letting everyone know you have registered etc. I personally didnt do this BUT I was registered when I sent the shower invites so I was able to put the little cards in them. Have fun!

I agree with Jess, register anyway as people will buy you something anyway-- better that it is something you and FI have chosen as opposed to five toasters, three sets of frying pans... you see what I'm getting at.

Maybe also let your BMs and Parents know that giftcards and money would be preferred, and they can subtly mention it to those who inquire. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
