Okay first - how in the world do you have taxes done already!?!?! I don't even have all the documents I need from work! WOW!

 

Second - maybe you could ask her for a "show of good faith" gesture. Mention that you understand she has other things on the go but if she could appease your bridal anxiety by at least purchasing her dress you would feel a whole lot better about giving her more time regarding her flights? Otherwise could you suggest that you have deadlines with the resort and if she's not booked then you can't count her in? It might not be the full truth but might help her realize these are necessarily deadlines that come from you but someone else??

 

i don't blame you at all for being frustrated by this - I think we'd all feel the same way too! We're here if you need to vent some more!

Meghan, Your work doesn't give you your tax papers before xmas? I know in MTL we get all of our papers before xmas so we are able to file them right after the holidays. I always do my tax around this time of year. We are waiting to use it for the wedding lol.

I am so sorry to hear about your MOH issues, I just had almost the same issue with a BM, spacey like yours lol.. ugh they are so frustrating. I had that talk with her, and everything has been cleared since then, and it feels amazing.

about the booking, my moh is only booking March 10th and we leave April 10th. I just have to have faith she will come through (and so will the resort packages) I hope so as her bf is the bestman as well. I am sure once you have that talk with her you'll feel better. If she is anything like my BM then you should have that talk with her before she spends all the tax return money.. that's exactly how my girl is... I had to take money away from you and said this is for your trip. I even had to take the dress from her or she would have worn it!!!

 

Meghan, your not alone with the horrible 24 hours. I've had some problems as well yesterday and today.. makes me need a vacation from wedding planning 'cry'

I booked my trip on line back in Sept.. we booked for 1 week in the upgraded royal suites, but on top of that we upgraded again and got a 'delux suite'.. everything is fine until I call the travel agent and ask to add another week for our honeymoon. I made it clear it was for the delux suite, he was aware and had no problem.. he 'booked' the second week for the same room.

Sunday he calls me and ask me if was ok to pay the remaining balance Monday (yesterday) as suppose today (Tuesday when it was orginally to be paid) I said it was no problem, and made it clear AGAIN for the delux suit. he said 'yes ma'am no problem it's definitely for the delux' ok great.

Yesterday I woke up to my new invoice, so I was going through it and saw the room type as 'junior suite' which is the undergrade of what I paid for

So I call him, and he has enough balls to tell me I was wrong and I never orginally booked the Delux (ooops for him I kept my old invoice for the 1 week trip) and sure enough it says 'delux suite' and now it's all about 'we are working it out' UH- NO!!! No one needs more then 24 hours to work it out, I want my invoive with what I paid for.. but it's not that easy and I am still fighting with the... STUPID ITRAVEL2000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh YAY! You were able to see the pictures?!?! I was having problems opening them myself but I wasn't sure if that's because they're already loaded on to my computer or something. I was so excited when my friend sent me the pictures this morning because they were perfect!

 

And no we totally don't get our tax stuff before Christmas - I wish!! I think our stuff should be out in the next few weeks as other investment-type slips have started to trickle in lately. I'm hoping that since we file online that I'll be able to get them submitted and get my return before the wedding for a little extra spending money Or nevermind that, if it's enough to pay everything from the wedding off then I'll be happy!!

I totally feel you with how to use the tax return, we are only lucky in one way because I don't work so the FI gets to put me as a depended so we get $1000 just because of that (not that it's even close on how much $$ he spends on me a year with all my medications) 1 medication is 1,500$ a month!!!!!!!!! (which is cheap since the last one i was on was 3,400$ a month) so odd how each province has different rules or ways of doing things, espically with the whole tax thing

Wow, that really sucks. I hope she pulls through for you and soon. I think sometimes people just don't realize how stressful this stuff can get for us. She's cutting it pretty close for time, though. I'd probably give her a deadline at this point, but I'm not sure that that's the best plan.

My sister, my niece and I are going to order all the sandals for the wedding party tonight and then on the way to the bus this morning (50feet from my car) I slipped on some ice and fell and landed on a really weird spot on the side/back of my leg and have this huge bruise already which sucks mostly because I sit at my desk all day and it puts pressure on the bruise! I seriously need some alcohol in my coffee this morning!! But now for the GREAT news of the day.... I am lucky enough that one of my oldest childhood friends makes her own jewelry and she was willing to suffer through my horrible ability of describing what I wanted to make my hair piece for me.

Too bad about your crappy morning! What is it with these mugs, huh? I thought they were supposed to be one of the easier things and they're nothing but hassle!
I'm not able to see the jewelry you've posted, but it sounds gorgeous. You're lucky to have a friend who does that kind of thing- it makes it that much more special when someone you care about makes something.

I got the FI to tak care of this one , as it was stressing me out to much. Supposely they are aware of their mistake and they are working it out,and they assured me I'd get the room I wanted, but also paid for.

Tracy, you are a very chatty one aren't you?? hehe but I think we all have a lot to say on the April 2010 thread, that's what makes it so fun!! and just want to say $1500 a month on drugs - this is out of pocket?? do you have any sort of coverage? wholly crap, I almost had heart failure today when I picked up my prescriptions and they came to $76, and that's after our 80% coverage!! and I hate money too!! hate hate hate it! still hoping to win the lottery!! lol

 

So I have changed my mind on my BM's dresses again!!! so indecisive I am, I hate that I can't make a decision!! I did get one of my BM's necklaces in the mail today, sterling silver starfish necklace, it's really nice, I'm happy with it - for now! lol

 

Other than that not much going on...pretty boring...OH I went out!!! Like to a bar!!!!!! had a lot of fun too!! couldn't drink too much because of this damn ulcer, but I did get to have a couple of drinks, which is apparently enough for me now!! lol

It was at Flames Central last night for a big work thingy for FI's work, all food and booze free, was pretty fun!!! Finally my first outing in Calgary...I'll have to try that again sometime! lol
