oooo, Virg that sounds awesome! I'm definitely going to have to take a closer look at that menu, our ceremony isn't until 6:00, so we have some major time to kill. Have you booked your hair app't yet? I'm the only one getting mine done-- so far, anyway. Should I book now?

How were the massages and how much did they cost? Also, were you able to book your hair appointments before you got there and how much were those?

Thanks so much for posting this information.

Just one more question...are you able to make changes to wedding menus. I have some guests coming that are deathly allergic to shellfish/vegitarian/doesn't eat pork for religious reasons. Would they be able to do a pasta dish for certain people?

The SPA was PHENOMENAL. My mom, MIL and myself all did a hydrotherapy treatment and then a 30min massage. It was the BEST way to end the week. Definitely worth it. Also, if you book a wedding package you get a "couples massage" for 30cuc (which is really cheap) we decided not to do it, as we didn't really have time during our week, but it's a great price. I definitely recommend the hydrotherapy treatment.

We worked with Maria Elena (who was better than Lian in my opinion) and she had already booked the hair app't for me prior to arrival. However, she booked the appointment 2 hours before the ceremony, and I would recommend giving yourself 3. She can change it for you- the salon wasn't terribly busy when I arrived, but our ceremony was at 6.

You can definitely make changes to the menu where needed. We have a Jewish friend who couldn't eat the bacon on the filet mignon. (sp?) And my sister doesn't eat shellfish. Just make sure to mention it to your WC when you arrive and have your meeting.

It is all VERY easy. The WCs are both great, and-- although it is a little nerve wracking to think of waiting until you arrive to do most of the planning-- it all works our beautifully!

LIttle suggestion-- if you aren't bringing down your own photog, and choosing to use a resort photog instead ask for Alfredo ahead of time. He is AMAZING! He enjoyed shooting us so much on the wedding day that he did a free TTD for us the next day. Very, very nice guy with a great eye (and a GREAT mullet)!

Anymore questions, just pm me. I'm happy to help. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
