Honeymoon registry + destination wedding too much?!

Recommended Posts

Urg, I just got my wedding invitations and am all ready to send them out and I completely forgot about a gift registry! I thought that the honeymoon registry would be a good way to do things so that we didnt end up with a bunch of stuff we didnt need since my FI and I already live together... when I ran it by my mom she thought that since we were having a destination wedding already it wouldnt good to ask for people to contribute to a honeymoon since we were already vacationing... kind of excessive she thought. Now I am worried about what to do?! feedback.gif

well here's my two cents ¢¢. hehehe

You have already had the invitations printed. Send them out as is. If people ask where you are registered just say "we are already asking a lot for people to join us in Los Cabos and to us that is enough and we didn't want to have to lug back a bunch of gifts so if you are inclined we made a honeymoon registry."

A lot of girls here had both ! I had both and I actually received a lot of money on my registry !! And not only from people who were not coming...

I also put my TTD package on there... divided in 15 pieces... the good thing about a honeymoon registry is that you do what you want with it...

I would send them out and not worry about it. If youu want to register somewhere, and you are unsure of registering for the honeymoon, think about registering with a photographer! They tend to be expensive and in the end everyone gets a picture of the two of you so they see what their money was spent on!

I agree.. send them out as is. I am personally against including registry cards in invitations. If people want to know where you are registered, just say like what Jean-marcus mentioned above. Also, let close friends and family know that info as well so they can pass around the word if asked.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
