The first time I bought a tub, I used a regular flavored one from Giant, don't remember the brand. But since i only use like a tablespoon or two in her food, it lasts a long time. So this time I bought one that I like (Dannon vanilla flavored, fat free or something like that), in case I need to eat it before it goes bad. It seems to be working just as fine!

I think its just about the probiotics, like you said before, so anything that has them should do the trick.

Alyssa- I give our dogs a teaspoon every day of plain yogurt. The brand I get is organic and I didn't do low fat.

Carly- I have a baby bulldog as you know and when we first got him, we continued to feed him the food the breeder did before we began to switch. OMG his farts were rancid. We've since switched his food and so much better. I've also read that elevating their food helps because they don't gulp it so not as much air gets ingested. Makes sense.

So we now elevate his food, soak his food so he eats it slower and give him yogurt. I haven't smelled a fart in about a week so yahoo!! Also, I have a bunch of pdfs on bulldog health, plus some great info on foods! PM your email addy and I'll send it to you if you want. :)

Oh and I meant to add that Amy is right- chewing prevents buildup so make sure Sugar chews on some toys or give her a good brushing. Brushing their teeth is hard to start when they are older so if you don't already do it, it may be hard to begin. I would just make sure she has something that stimulates chewing!

Alyssa- here's the info I had in my little puppy manual:

Probiotics

Probiotics are the good “friendly” bacteria that reside in our dog’s

intestinal tract and promote the growth of intestinal flora that help to

fully digest food. They include Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium

bifidum, and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, among others.

If your dog has had antibiotics, which destroy these good bacteria

along with all the bad bacteria, it is especially important to add them

back into the diet.

You can add plain (unsweetened) yogurt (look for multiple strains) to

your dog’s diet

or you can just get a probiotic supplement at your natural foods

store and adjust the dosage for your dog (adult human supplements

are based on a 150 pound human).

One brand I know of made just for dogs is Animal Essentials. It has

enzymes and probiotics.

Haha too funny! Actually our dog Chesdin only farts when we give him wet food and OMG its definitely room clearing!! So we try to limit that even though he LOVEs wet food so much, its too stinky!

Interesting about the yogurt though

PS LOVE the title of this thread

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
