Vegas Hotels: the good & BAD!

Recommended Posts

So FI booked tickets to Vegas as a 30th Birthday present for me! My b-day was this month and the trip isn't until May (like a week before we leave for Mexico) but that's cool! So I am sooooo excited because I have never ever been to Vegas before!!

So ladies, I read your reviews what would ya'll suggest for a couples weekend getaway? I don't think we will be in the room much, just to sleep and well you know! wink.gif But I think I would want a nice pool and I want to be in the center of the action. I am going to look for deals online, but I can't really afford the Bellagio with my Mexico wedding like 12 days later!

Also, M and I really wanted to pull and secret Vegas wedding like some of our other BDW brides have (Andi and Jess come to mind!) So we are doing our legal ceremony there instead of the boring Des Moines Iowa Courthouse! Woot! woot.gif I am soooo excited! I can't wait! Elvis wedding drive-thru here I come!!

Erin, I thought the pool was small and boring. At the time they didn't even have cabanas and most reviews say the food by the pool stinks. And although they just opened up their "VIP" pool, there are not a bunch of reviews on it so my guess is that it isn't very fun. If you are looking for a party pool, this is not it.

What a great surprise!! Signature is AWESOME! I'm not a huge fan of MGM (because I'm a Wynn-devotee), but I will stay at Signature. We stayed there for a bachelorette party 2 years ago and it was gorgeous! Plus, the beds were soooo comfy, although we slept only 3 hours total in 48 hours in Vegas. It's off the strip, and it does take a bit of walking to get there, so a cab is a must if you're in heels. The pool at Signature is nice and way more laid back than your stereotypical Vegas pool. If you want crazy pool antics, just take the little walkway to the MGM pool. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the MGM pool. Another big plus for a girl's weekend at Signature is the bathroom size! We had 6 girls in our room and were all able to get ready at the same time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
