Leaving for DW in Cancun next Sunday; Swine Flu

Recommended Posts

It is totally blown out of proportion! You are going to go and have fun and those who are supposed to be there will and those you are not won't. You can do something when you get home with those who did not come. Enjoy every minute of the wedding and all the events that weekend! I know it is easier for all of us with a wedding farther away to say but we are getting married in hurricane season and EVERYONE wants to put their two cents in. Wether it is swine flu or hurricanes, its all about acceptance. Chin up and ENJOY IT!!!!!!!

There are reports on CNN and BBC that the wine flu numbers are decreasing and Mexico lowered its threat level. Yay!!!

Plus my friend's friends just got back from Cancun this past Saturday and said it was fine. Nothing was going on there and hotels are very cautious & have things under control.

hopefully I can shed some information and ease your anxiety a bit. I just got home from being in Riveria Maya for an entire week. We left on Monday when they just announced everything. Our flight was supposed to be full but it maybe there was 50 people on it. Being in our resort you would never know that anything was wrong-the only thing we noticed was that towards the end of the week the resort was empty. We went to the Cancun airport today and there was a few people wearing masks and they took your temp before getting on the flights.

I will tell you that we have a ton of guests cancel on us-but we ended up having an amazing time and I am so happy that we did not cancel.

If you want anymore details please email me

have the recent reports over the past few days helped any of your guests reconsider? mexico has lowered their alert level, as cases seem to have dwindled significantly. my MOH was canceling yesterday, but now that there are cases in her hometown her doc told her she might as well go, and gave her tamiflu just in case. i really hope all works out for you and the most important people will be there.

Chin up, beautiful! Don't worry about this over sensationalized story that the media is thriving on - seriously!

Read the thread that TaylorsGirl posted above, and skim through some of the pages, specifically read the last 5-10 pages....it's all good.

If you need some reference information of what is really going on down there, you know something that will ease your mind and your guests, then please let me know and I'll get some info to you.

You're going to have a beuatiful wedding - stay positive, I know it's hard, but we're all in this together.

let me know if there's anything I can do for you...and CONGRATULATIONS!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
