OH MY Gosh! I just emailed Juan to take engagement pictures and he emailed me back and told me just for engagement photos the price will be:

Hola Andrea, July 27 sounds good to me. I am thinking that it would

take about 6 hours or so to do all of those photos. here are my rates.

Packages:

$3,000 USD = 5 hours. (minimum)

$3,600 USD = 6 hours.

$4,800 USD = 8 hours.

$6,000 USD = 10 hours.

***Aren't these prices for weddings? That seems very very expensive for engagement photos.

I'm not sure if I'm going to take him.

I can take my own photos for that price.

yes that does sound pricey...hmm maybe you should talk to Sarah when you get back because he did hers too, but she is also getting her wedding pics done by him, so who knows.

um I would think so, but honestly I have heard is has gotten expensive...I would not pay that for engagement photos or even wedding photos, I am paying $2700 for 7 hours.

Wait... really?? Engagement pics take SIX hours?! Ya, those are Juan's wedding prices. Definately contact him about it. I'm sure he's use to getting so many inquiries about weddings he didn't look closely enough. If those are his engagement prices it's not worth it! That's a lot!

But seriously... 6 hours for engagement shoot? I thought most were around 1-2ish hours?

It's 6 hours because so many different picture types were requested, including the scuba photos. I think just taking a boat to scuba location would take an hour... right?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
