Food at SDML varies greatly depending on your choices.  We are getting married there in November and doing both the ceremony and diner at the restaurant.  We are just finalizing our menu (both the set menu choices and the custom Banquet menu are extensive) but including open bar with some international liquor we are edging towards $210 per head.  Also be aware that they only have gold, brown or orange as standard linens in the restaurant so if you want to coordinate you will have to rent linens and potentially chairs from another source so that can add up too

We are doing our wedding at SDML in Feb. 2011.  We have planned it down to just meeting the minimum consumption fee of $4,000, with wedding, appetizers, dinner, dessert, open bar for 4.5 hours and rented out the whole bar area!  If you need ideas, Leah email me if you want any ideas!  We had to pay extra for our wedding planner, flowers (VERY minimum), music (we are playing our IPOD in the bar and hired a trio for an hour).  We found our stay for $3,200 6 nights at the Riu Santa Fe... but we didn't want to get married there.  Great place to stay though!
Can't wait!  We have a fabulous wedding planner too.  :)

Hi abswsu21,

I'm looking at getting married at SDML and wanted to know how many people did you have at your wedding for that amount?  Also who was your planner and what did she charge?

Thanks

I noticed know one has written on here about this venue in years. I am interested in this venue and thought the price was really good for where your getting married but does anyone know the prices of the wedding coordinator since we “have” to have one? What did you guys decide on and what package?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
