I was going to just bring ipod to resort since del mar's dj doesn't speak english or MC but it is just as much to rent his equip and i would rather have mc- one less thing i would have to organize and worry about.

For those who used him, did you still find it nec to provide entire song list. What kind of music did he play? Did he organize rec well and do announc??

thanks for info

Here's a thread about DJ Bob: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t26291

He seems like he's gotten good reviews! My WC recommended him and said he was very good, and does an excellent job at emceeing the reception, keeping things organized and most importantly keping people entertained! Best of all his rates are a lot more reasonable than some of the other DJs in the area -- $450 for the first 4 hours, and $50 for every hour thereafter.

Hope this helps wink.gif

I booked DJ Bob for me wedding in October. Shortly after I booked him he arranged a time to call me - he was super cool and friendly. He totally does NOT want you to pick out your whole playlist (which is fine w/me b/c I'm not interested in that). His theory is "I'm not an IPod, if you want an IPod, use an IPod." Plus, why would you pay $450 for someone to just push play? He basically just told me to give him 15-20 songs that I MUSt have (I'm giving him about 3 slow songs and the rest dance - I'm more concerned about the fun part :) ) and he'll just fill in the rest - plus he's all about taking requests, which is great b/c I'm going to have around 80 guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
