Newbie!!!! November 09 Bride

Hi! I'm Jennifer. I'm getting married the first week of November..somewhere on the beach in Mexico (preferably the Playa del Carmen/Riveria Maya area. Then we're having a big party/reception back home in Ohio on 11/14.

I found this site while looking into destination weddings. We want a simple wedding at an all-inclusive resort with a four star or greater rating.

We could have anywhere from 10-40 people attend the wedding.

We like Riu Palaces but are also looking into Dreams Tulum, which was reccommended by one of our travel agents.

Due to the state of the economy (and because I'm a deal hunter), I'm looking for the most for our dollar and don't want the trip to be a financial hardship for our family.

I'm hoping this site will give me some good insight.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the forum! I'm getting married on November 14th at Grand Riviera Princess. I also wanted a nice resort that was reasonably priced for my family and friends who wanted to join us. We found an amazing deal for this resort. It's 4 stars and only just over a year old so maybe that's why the rates we got are really good. You might want to check it out.

Welcome Jennifer!

If you haven't settled for the Riviera Maya and want to stretch your dollars may be you could look into Puerto Vallarta.

A lot more convenient plus it has the advantage that the destination is in between a very traditional area in Mexico. You get to see the culture.

In the mean time, Welcome to the forum!!! smile29.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
